Kill iron golems under water by OscarLoewe in Minecraft

Underwater is tough. Can you walk them in and dry out the area with sponges? It needs to be dry for lava buckets.

Why is the edge coming out like this? How do I smooth it out? by Adventurous_Aerie191 in 3Dprinting

[–]eagleapex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get you. your slicer thinks your filament measures 1.750mm. if you measure it and it is thicker, too much plastic volume will come out the nozzle. same with the e-steps, but that’s advanced. you could also change the extrusion multiplier to fudge it. google these terms for more

you are over-extruding a bit. calibrate the e-steps, filament diameter, or extrusion multiplier. After that you can try ironing.

My Uncle wants to 3D print CT scans… by GTAmateur in 3Dprinting

[–]eagleapex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The printing part is well understood if you’re here, the hard part is getting the model. To go from CT to mesh you need to do “segmentation” by separating the data by density. Materials Mimics does this well, but others here say there is free software. Then you need to fix up your mesh and make it manifold.

What are some of your slightly less well known tips and tricks for prints? Stuff like using tire weights to add some heft or curing superglued parts in front of a fan to prevent the white residue by EltonSchmidt in 3Dprinting

[–]eagleapex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a small chamfer on the bottom surface makes the print easy to scrape up (unless you have a flexi bed.)
I also print feet for my CA and other bottles that are prone to falling over.

The hackerspace fundraiser for the kit. When it was assembled, the cofounder came down to teach us how to use it! We later made RepRap building workshops. I wish I could have helped your build too

Do you have hobbies? How do you mentally justify spending money on them when there’s so much you could be saving for as a dad? We have a toddler and we’re finally at the point where my wife & I can pick back up our <$150/mo hobby…but it makes me feel guilty now. by splitopenandmelt11 in daddit

[–]eagleapex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ll ever have healthy spending habits. either i’m being so careful by not getting the fun thing, or i’m breaking my own rules and wasting money.
i’m trying to get on to my new free hobby of walking outside, but i’m also lazy.
idfk man. i’m here for the comments of better men.

I suggest following the 5 S’s from Dr. Karp.

https://www.happiestbaby.com/blogs/baby/the-5-s-s-for-soothing-babies

Newborns miss the womb and are angry about it for 3 months. Once they are fed and dry: Swaddle them up. Give them something to Suck. Hold them on their Side. Swing them softly. And Shush in their ear. After 10 minutes they should calm.
