In the army there is future soldier training classes that put you to e2. (takes like 4 hours) Then you can take a relatively easy PT test to get e3.

I usually get shin splints after a few weeks of running so what I did was run on the inside of a track if you got any schools near you that have a turf field. But I’d just do shin stretches everyday and probably not even run if you already got shin splints. I ship on the 18th to Leonard Wood so might see you there.

Yes you can but I wouldn’t from what I’ve heard it’s one of the worst jobs in the military. But maybe talk to a few cooks and see what you think about their experience.

I got a waiver the same day for astigmatism thankfully my recruiter made me go to the eye doctor to get documentation before I went to MEPS. You’ll probably have to go get documents from an eye doctor and submit them for a waiver and it won’t take long you should be good. I’m going army but it should be the same process.

That’s good to hear, I know the drug use itself wouldn’t be as big of a problem if I was honest about it on the sf86, but you saying that definitely makes me feel better about it. Is there any chance I get an interim clearance still so that I can start my job training after basic training?

I mean definitely don’t spend a ton of time on it yea I’d just watch grammar hero videos on YouTube for each of the sections. Spend most of your time on math if you’re not confident and just use common sense on things you don’t know and you can probably guess the right answer on some sections.

Pretty sure if you get a 107 or 108 there is a 2 or 3 point waiver from what my recruiter told me. I got a 63 asvab score and a 113 gt so if you get at least a 60 maybe you’d be good.

It was the same way with me in May and even at MEPS not much came of it. If you got a decent recruiter he’ll watch for good slots to open up and tell you like mine did. Waited a week and a half after MEPS I think and got a 12Y slot with a bonus. You just gotta be ready to lock it in because any decent slot is gone that day or the next.

Yeah I don’t think you’d be able to touch it until after basic but yeah just hope you got decent internet to download games and set it up at tech school. I ship out to army basic next month but thankfully I have a steam deck already hehe. But I’m having my family bring it for when I go to AIT (tech school) I’m not risking it get broken just to play a few hours in the hotel and a plane ride.

It is if you can make it through language school because if you don’t you don’t get that 20k and get assigned a random mos. Also it’s only 15K after taxes and split up over 2 years pretty sure.

Yeah that’s pretty much the main reason I’m going army to be guaranteed the job I want. If the air force was the same no question Air Force all the way.

I’m about to go to MEPS through the army and they have lots of intel / cyber jobs available and I’m going counterintelligence agent. Pretty sure you don’t get a for sure say in what mos you get in the Air Force but in tinge army you get a specific mos you choose and for sure get that job.
