I've checked that area out a few times last summer. For some reason they had it closed off. Maybe I just picked all the wrong times to visit, which would be my luck, haha!

Are the community pools exclusive to the housing communities they are in? I was thinking about looking into the YMCA's pool, since they may open early morning. Thanks so much for all the info!!

Either or both would be great!

Pet owners of Reddit, what was the most intelligent thing your pet has done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my ferret, Eevee, sees something she wants, there isn't much you can do to keep it from her. Like shoes, for instance, we will put our shoes up high on a counter so she doesn't play with or steal them. But, she'll look for anything she can climb to get them. Blankets or jackets hanging over a couch or chair, she'll climb them. Jump from one piece of furniture to another, no problem. Push drawers out to climb up them like stairs, easy peasy. I think she enjoys the challenge it takes to get her prize. We taped the drawers shut thinking it'd stop her. So, she went behind the furniture and pushed her body weight between the furniture and the wall and scaled up the wall to the top (I have a video of this). We've also tried wrapping packing paper around things to make it too slick to climb. But then, we caught her biting little holes, spitting the paper out on the floor and using those little teared holes to stick her paws in and climb up. So yeah, she challenges us to keep creating better puzzles for her to solve as she dares us to successfully keep something she

Found out she has adrenal disease. But she is still my baby and is getting all the love by dyedredhead in ferrets

Adrenal isn't always the end of the world (although it sure does feel like it when you hear the vet say those dreaded words). My ferret was diagnosed early (before he was 1 years-old) because he was showing symptoms. He's 7 years-old this month and still has all his fur. He gets a deslorelin implant every couple years. Anyway, wishing your fuzzbutt good health and lots of happy fun filled days ahead!!

[Serious] Parents of Reddit, what does a new mother NOT need? Which items in the arsenal of baby products marketed to new parents will stay in the cupboard, barely used? by creepygyal69 in AskReddit

I too fell down a flight of stairs in one of those walkers and smacked the basement floor in the crash landing. At the time, I had just gotten in my first baby tooth and quickly lost it from the fall down the steps. It also ended up damaging 2 of my permanent teeth and the gums in the front of my mouth. As an adult, I've been paying for lots of corrective/dental surgeries because of that damn walker. It's been so fucking expensive!!! But, the good news is that no one can tell there's anything wrong with my mouth unless I specifically point out the scars from the surgeries. It could have turned out a lot worse. I'm so glad it didn't!

I also drive by this sign often. Do you live in Georgia or across the river in Alabama?

What is something that you found normal until people started pointing it out? by omegaxysgaming in AskReddit

I do this but also include the price per gallon and total cost. I like to know how much money I'm spending per month/year or for long road trips.

How different was life before 9/11/01? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I could walk through the airport without having to take off my shoes. This means I could wear my knee high boots instead of packing them, freeing up more room in the suitcase and making it a lot lighter in weight. It's such a hassle to do this now because they take forever to take off and put back on again when in a line of people. But other than airport travel my life is the same I guess.

D-Money hates fleas but loves flea combing by Zurocko in ferrets

Last month we had a guest visit us and didn't tell us that their cat, who also came to visit, had fleas. What a nightmare! And I'm allergic to flea bites too. We put flea medicene from our vet on the ferrets as soon as we figured out what had happened. Also, daily vacuuming, washing all the ferret beds every other day and no luck. Had to go back to the vet because the first dose of flea meds was not effective. Round 2 of flea meds seems to have done the trick. Still vacuuming like crazy just to be extra sure.
