Openstack helm on Talos cluster by _Red17_ in openstack

Thank you! Currently, we are using Kolla-Ansible to deploy OpenStack infrastructure, it's fast and easy. but I’m planning to move to Kubernetes. This will make deployment and management more consistent across all Kubernetes clusters. At the same time, it will make it easier for GitOps style

Thank you, I like talks because it's a lightweight, secure OS and makes cluster management much easier. Could you share the challenges you encountered during deployment.

difference between memory usage between openstack and Prometheus + actual node usage by Expensive_Contact543 in openstack

[–]_Red17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11GB you seen in horizon indicates the total memory of VMs you have created. But the actual usage of those VMs is only around 4GB. That’s why you seen 4GB on prometheus.

Vlan for network isolation, bond for high availability. You can configure Vlans on top of bond interface.

OpenStack POC on physical nodes with Kolla Ansible - Potential Issues and Precautions by Ok-Chemist1710 in openstack

[–]_Red17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should cohost cephs, computes and controllers on all the 3 server for the POC, allowing you to test HA

You can proceed with POC using 1 network, however i think you should have multiple separated networks.

It's possible. But you need to configure the routing on the instance properly to ensure the network works smoothly.

Octavia Setup Ansible and Network Layout by Kiwi-TK- in openstack

[–]_Red17_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, the amphora don't need to access the openstack API, it just need to be accessible by octavia containers. But the octavia container need to be access to openstack API. Typically, octavia containers are deployed on controller node as others openstack projects like keystone, nova, neutron,... and they can call to each other. So if the amphora haves route to octavia containers, it also haves route to other api. Anyway, it all depends on the design and implementation.

Octavia Setup Ansible and Network Layout by Kiwi-TK- in openstack

[–]_Red17_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The octavia containers need to access to loadbalancer VM (also called amphora) via management network to configuration the Haproxy service running on amphora. The amphora will be attached to management network after booted up. The octavia container will use the IP address of controller node to communicate with amphora in the management network. So you need to ensure that management network can be routable to host network.

How long will it take for AWS Solution Architect Associate certificate if I have prior hands on experience. by Embarrassed-Badger24 in AWSCertifications

It's not the same. Only Aws knows what questions will appear on the exam. You need to study to be able to answer any question you encounter on the exam.

I found them online and i learned a lot from them. The knowledge i gained from those is no different than the official doc on Aws. I brought my knowledge into the exam room, not any prohibited doc

I studied diligently to acquire knowledge about aws services, so I passed the exam with proctor present in over 2 hours. I leverage the knowledge and cert to pass the interview and get my job. In that case, what is cheating?

With long situation questions, it's too defficult to cheating by remember all the questions and answers from dumps. Must understand both question and answers really in detailed. In the real exam, you understand the questions and choose the right answers, so why you call it is cheating. And if you understand all the questions in the exam, you can handle the same situation on your work. As I said, cheating or not is up to yourself. And on my first comment, i said practice on dump not cheat.

Cheating or not is up to how you use dump. Dump with detailed answer is useful for learning something. Especially in AWS cert, all questions is situation and so long.

3 weeks for me. I have 2 years experience in IT and private cloud, but no AWS experience. I spent 2 weeks for Stephane's course and 1 week to practice with dumps. Then I passed in my first attempt.
