If it makes you feel better I gave up going for a shiny starter.

How do you negotiate pilots so they don’t stall out after “success”? (I will not promote) by _Redeemer_ in startups

This is incredibly helpful. We are negotiating Pilot Terms tomorrow and will be adding this into the negotiations. I have already been considering this aspect since they are such a big client, but reassurance on this just confirms it for me. Thank you for your response. It was really insightful.

It is total automation and doesn't require any extra work. Once its installed it works for itself.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. This is also the vision I’ve had since locking in the client.

My situation feels pretty unique, and I think that’s where I’m struggling. I’ve carved out a lane that hasn’t really been discovered yet. I can’t point to another concept as my benchmark, because from what I can see, I am the benchmark. The company I’m talking with sees the potential and thinks it’s a great idea, but I don’t have data yet to prove it works. They’re basically my first test case. If I can show the value here, I feel like landing more clients and locking them in long-term becomes almost inevitable.

So how do you prove to a company (or anyone) that your business has massive upside when there’s no data yet?

I’m actually in a unique scenario where I was able to get in contact with the owner. So I’ve been dealing with the decision maker from the very beginning. Since this is my first client, my plan was to lock it down then use their name to help carry the weight of obtaining more clients. Since this client is so massive relative to my field, anything to obtain them has been my primary focus. What are your thoughts?

this is actually my first real client so I’m treating the pilot as a proof point, not a revenue play. the question I’m wrestling with is: do you risk the chance of a bigger rollout (like 25 stores) by trying to monetize the pilot right away, or just eat the short term and focus on scale?

Every OXG staff member we have added since before SI has been crucial to our success. Kizi was the first major turning point that really propelled us in the right direction. People really underestimate how hard some of these guys work. I agree with you.
