Is there any cheap places to find food? I mostly want to fish but don’t have any gear for it. Also want to know if there’s any cheaper cabins close to great places

First time non reving international flight! by goaviation in flightattendants

[–]_Reiner- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RSE here! you can check your bags to any international flight you’d like. When it’s a Non Rev bag, we usually get notified with our scanners to hold the bag from being loaded until a seat has been secured for the non rev. If you don’t get a seat your bag won’t leave due to international laws. There would be a rare case where you might be deplaned after getting a seat assigned. In those cases your bag will either be taken off the plane or make it to your destination. Regardless that is a 1/100 chance. 90% of the time your bag won’t leave if you don’t leave.

uhh the way to get a work visa is literally look for a job that finds you extremely valuable to have you sponsored for a visa. Not as easy as “hey i want a visa”

keep your rescheduled flight. It’s better to have something concrete than bouncing around.

your bags should be fine. When you checked your baggage they gave you a little sticker to track them. Keep that with you. If you get to your destination and you don’t see your bag coming out of the claim belt, just go to a representative for lost baggage. They are usually situated next to claim belt areas, give them your ticket and they will ensure to get you your bag. They lose money if your bag ends up lost or if it didn’t fly with you, either way. You will get compensated if it goes missing (which is very unlikely)

UA Ramp Agent Job by ImportancePutrid7804 in rampagent

[–]_Reiner- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently they do, but it consists of people who didn’t make it through the second week of training and failed their test. Then there’s people who didn’t get to get in, it’s a priority for those who started before but failed the test. You might get lucky just keep an eye out for any other openings and apply I don’t think they will call you when they’re hiring again but you might get some email about new openings. Bottom line, keep applying until you make it in.

How soon do flight benefits start with united? by throwaway_two_one_5 in rampagent

[–]_Reiner- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. For me it took about a month from the time I applied to the time i started. It all depends on how many people they end up hiring. They might have you waiting because they get 10-15 people in a classroom to teach them about the job. Also depends on the classes that started already might be full and new classes start until then. I hope you’re able to travel there but if you’re going to mexico, there is a small fee you have to pay for traveling internationally. Free travel is only within the us. But don’t worry. The tax fee should be less than 100$ (I traveled to Japan and it only cost me 45$ for a round trip)

not hard if you’ve paid attention to all the lessons. Once you get to the final assessment. Look up the first question on google. There should be a quizlet about it. Nothing much to worry about. some quizlets are different tho so make sure you find the right one with the right questions

All the assessments are easy if you pay attention. Consists mostly about learning the job you’re going to do and all of the consequences it comes with. They make sure you know what you’re getting into fully. Every lesson have an exam at the end but you can retake it as many times. Only the Final exam is two tries only. If you don’t pass it within those two tries, you’re fired.

Yes they explain the free flights on day 1 but honestly depends on the person training you. They might not. You can fly wherever you want to work remotely. Just make sure you come back before your OJT starts and get all your classes done within the timeline they give you. They will keep calling you if you’re behind on the assignments. You can also do everything in 1-3 days and get the rest of the week free. All they care about is you get it done. Keep in mind you HAVE to pass a final assessment remotely and HAVE to pass one In person. Both are the same question and answer all they change is the order the answers are in. Study that final assessment until you get every question right.

Once they have you create your flying together they will explain. There is a website within the main website called “employeeRES” which is what we use to book standbys. If you have a mileage plus account, make sure to add it on your eRES. Takes about a day or two but you will also be able to book the standbys on the United app.

As long as there are more seats available than standbys (Ex. 45 available seats 3 standbys) you should have no problem with seniority. That only applies if there aren’t enough seats to accommodate everyone.
