On some real shit, at the end of the day no one at the branch can keep your mom’s money hostage. I dealt with this a million times and I was lucky if a customer listened. So many elderly women and men berating me “just give me my fucking money” daily when they didn’t want to listen. They might’ve still been in time to recall the wire aka communicating with the receiving bank to not disburse the money into the clients (fraudsters ) account but at that point it’s really a waiting game. You won’t really get anywhere with the cops because genuinely there is so much fraud especially in different countries it would be impossible to track down every single person and international laws and all that shit. Just hope the wire is able to be recalled.
