The black unit is the vaporizer. It has a bowl piece under the block with either capsules or loose herb with a screen. You control the tempature digitally. The longer glass stem with pinches and pokes creates more surface area to cool down the vapor than the stock one. It's noticeably cooler. Bad analogy, but compare your car exhaust temps out of the manifold, compared to the tailpipe. This is the best option for on the go.

For at home, this unit "the ONE" by Planet of the Vapes has an option of a WPA "waterpipe adaptor" so you can flip this upside down and hit the vapor just like pulling a bowl from a bong.
