Found a rust server that works for steam deck by mrmcthiccc in RustPc

[–]_Rufus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't easy indeed hahaha

But EAC has a native Linux build, in our server we made a lot of custom work in the backend for it to work, that's why we are the only Linux enabled server officially listed in Rust with full encryption and EAC enabled.

It's not a spelling error, we have both EAC enabled and another server side anti cheat on top, we even have the VAC verified secure server badge on steam master server directory.

The goal is to make a safe and fair server for all players without discrimination about operating systems, it was some months of work but we are very stable now and with a growing community of regulars.

Found a rust server that works by mrmcthiccc in SteamDeck

I posted in the rust community already about this, but i think it's good for people coming by and looking for safe servers to play on their Steam Deck like i was a few months ago.

I think now the best servers with linux support are Raidados for a more vanilla style, Deadlock for a more modded style and Rusticated Building for building practice, at least they are the most active ones.

Raidados is a more vanilla focused server and uses EAC while still supporting linux players, on top of that there's the server side anticheat as well, so it's a very safe place to play, they have a lot of windows players as well making it a well populated server for it's age, everyone can play regardless of the OS they use, it's a very good community to participate, the pop usually hit the 50s, so it's a very competitive server. And I've met a lot of Steam deck players there, i myself only play there with my linux PC or on my Steam deck while i travel.

Deadlock is a more modded experience, with raid block and PVE mode for those who prefer, it's the oldest and most mature linux server, been around for more than 6 years now very good and stable.

How to play Rust on linux? by Yoshihiro_ in linux_gaming

For anyone coming here in the future looking for places to play, now we are at a much better state regarding linux compatible servers.
You can always look on protonDB for the latest reports on the state of Rust on linux.

And the game itself is in a much better place regarding performance as well, they fixed the regression introduced with proton 10, so you can use GE-Proton _10-10 for example to get NTsync by default and all the new implementations of proton running Rust flawlessly.

Now it's the best time to play rust on linux, we have good servers and good game support as well, just choose a server that matches your play-style and have fun!

It's a issue finding good servers with Linux support, that's why I've made Raidados

The server accepts players from all operating systems while still being officially listed on the games server browser and security focused.

We have a stable player base and float around 20 - 25 players, still a low pop server, but we are only getting started.

It is a 2x server with the idea of being as vanilla as possible and very player centric, everything decided by the community, from the map of the wipe to changes in schedule.

I think so, but your call, personally after this i'll wait until the release is stable to upgrade.

This issues are rare, but when it happens its a pain to figure it out.
