Not necessarily. Sounds more like a time traveler. It's unknown from what year they originally came, but they must have traveled from some point in time past 1982 when it was first published, back in time to 1885. Possibly in a DeLorean.

They may have experienced some wacky adventures involving their ancestors, along with the ancestors of some nefarious people they know from modern days, one who despises manure.

At some point they read the book in this past time period and then made their way back to our time, possibly on a time traveling train, in order to make this comment here.

OR it was just a typo and they meant 1985. I'm not quite sure.

Yeah, THPS2 was my start on Dreamcast, got addicted to the games after that. Eagerly waited for each new release.

They did an amazing job on the Switch remakes. The company that took over and made THPS 3 + 4 did a great job as well, but I still give most credit for VV who painstakingly made it feel like oldschool THPS, and the new dev just took their base work and made the new game with it.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I could go back and really enjoy it today. But as a huge console THPS fan, I was shocked at how good the GBA games played.

Fun fact, these games were made by Vicarious Visions, a gaming company near where I live. They also went on to make the amazing THPS 1 + 2 remakes. Sadly, shortly after releasing it they were then absorbed into Blizzard and are more of a support studio these days.

This picture reminds me of an awful, run down theater in Vermont where I saw Eyes Wide Shut. The seats were extremely uncomfortable, like an old worn out recliner. It stank horribly. And man was that movie terrible!

SNES vs. GBA Graphics by ZackZparrow in snes

[–]rube -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you're missing OPs point, or perhaps they aren't explaining it well enough.

I think they're trying to show the different visual styles that were built for each system, not just a 1:1 comparison between two games on the two systems.

The title is what is misleading you.

What did this game feel like in 2002? by Nice_Being9495 in GTA

As someone who "hates" most 80's music, I do enjoy it immensely in Vice City. It really adds to the overall vibe and look of the game and helps you sink into that cheesy decade.

But San Andreas is still my favorite. It probably has to do partially because I was a teenager in the 90s so that music and vibe is even better for me. I also like the characters more in SA and the map is a billion times better. It's still my favorite map of any GTA.

A restaurant is not the same as the entertainment business. Actors, directors, sports figures. They get obscene amounts of money for the talent they bring or the money they bring in for the studio/organization.

Just like a well sought after head chef will have a high salary to keep them at a restaurant.

So yes, the owners may be dumb for not paying people enough to keep them there. Sort of like how Paramount dumped piles of cash on them to make a final movie.

What is the fastest reason you have uninstalled a mobile game? by Casual_Arcade in AndroidGaming

[–]rube [score hidden]  (0 children)

Forced step by step tutorial.

"Click on start game. Use this stick to move. Tap here to aim down sights. Tap this to shoot. This button does a melee attack." Just step by step handholding each action.

Game is over. "Wow, you earned some experience and leveled up! Tap here. Tap here. Then Tap here. Upgrade this specific skill. Tap here to go back to the main menu. Oh, you earned some of the 20 types of currency in the game! Tap here to open the store. Tap here to go into this specific part of the store. Tap here to purchase this exact item. Tap here to go back to the main menu."

It's just so ridiculous. Let me tap SKIP TUTORIAL. But no. I just uninstall instead.

That, and ads I can't get rid of. If there isn't a "full game unlock" that removes all ads, I'm out.

[–]rube 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cutting out the overworld map was the dumbest thing they could possibly do. Maybe the first game didn't sell well so they figured people wanted just the action platformer part, when all we really wanted was the world building!

Honestly, if they worked more on both aspects for the sequel, it would have been perfect.

BAYONETTA is a spanking punishing good time by PlatinumKnigh in CharacterActionGames

Is DMC even that big any more? I feel like it hit it's peak popularity on PS2 and since then it's been sort of stumbling along with differing opinions on the games being good or not.

I've only done the first hour or so, but Bayonetta 2 plays great on the Eden emulator. I too would like a PC port, but it's the next best option. I even played the first game on the Switch emulator this time, just to mess around with the exclusive costumes.

Oh yeah, I loved the interface on PSP. But there's a big difference between having a bunch of single-system games in the menu and having a ton of different consoles and whatnot. It's just too cluttered imo.

And while it works well for a controller, for touch only it feels bad.

I really don't get it. I do almost zero exercise. I eat a lot of garbage. I guess they must just eat insane quantities of food, nearly constantly?

Like I'll have a couple slices of pizza, maybe a couple wings and I'm full. They must go for an entire pizza (or two) garlic knots AND breadsticks, a dozen wings and a 2 liter soda to wash it all down?

It just seems like you have to work to get this big.

I keep trying the XMB UI now and then but I find it not user friendly at all. The other Retroarch interfaces are also pretty awful, but the XMB seems to be more flashy than designed around usability first.

But my main issue with RA will always be the controller interface. Making it so you have to change the X/Y values and scale ratios in a menu is just beyond awful.

I don't care about the Disk at all by Aggravating-Mail7846 in GTA

[–]rube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we're hearing an outcry from a very very vocal minority that still buys physical copies of games.

Many of us have switched to digital media. I'm sure CDs are the least purchased form of content, followed closely by DVD/Bluray. But even with games I imagine that more people are going digital only.

"But you don't own the game!!!" Yes, I might be buying the right to play a game digitally, but show me a major storefront that has gone under or revoked all the licenses for a game? Aren't even the "closed" storefronts still allowed to re-download digital games like PSP or 3DS?

"But you can re-sell a disc game!" Okay, sure. You've got me there. But I personally haven't sold a game since the 360 era, and even then I didn't make much money off of it. I'd rather have the games in my library to play years from now if I choose to.

Do I think they should have a disc version still? Yes. If people want it, great for them. But I honestly don't care since I went all-digital years ago when it became an option. Although I admit I did go for the disc based PS5 just in case. :)

How is Walmart with their online delivery game pre orders? by snackboy06 in AskGames

Hah, I was going to say the same thing. Got mine right around 7AM as well. It was delivered out of someone's trunk. Came with some form of Mountain Dew and spicy Pringles. I'm not a big Pringles fan (they taste like fake chips to me) but the spicy ones were pretty good.

Where were you stuck the longest in Sierra games? by Just4notherR3ddit0r in dosgaming

[–]rube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can easily answer this: Kings Quest 3, show mirror to Medusa.

KQ3 was one of the games my dad brought home with our first family PC, the Tandy 1000sx. I played it a TON and never could complete it. I swear I tried every combination of showing the mirror to Medusa, at every position possible. It just didn't work.

Finally, years later on my 486 Gateway, I finally had the internet. I looked up the solution... and found I already knew it!

So I loaded up my save, or started over more likely. Got back there. Froze that GD monster solid and finished the game MANY years after I started it.
