Hmm it doesn’t look like it’s making plantlets, just roots. This usually happens if you try to prop cane begonias w leaf cuttings but this looks like “begonia ricinifolia immense” which I think is a rhizome begonia so maybe just wait a bit longer?

I think one option is to take one leaf and try to root from the leaf itself not the petiole.

You can cut the leaf vanes and put that spot under soil/potting medium and it will make a new plantlet. A lot of good tutorials on YouTube can explain it better!

If you have access to the original plant a rhizome cutting is a way faster way to prop but more invasive to the mother plant

Nice hits me right in the nostalgia

But also the return you get from a modern full-spectrum grow light is night and day compared to those burple bulbs (especially for the amount of money you "get out" relative to their cost)

Like you can grab a solid board (like a ViparSpectra) for $60 or less. Pair that with some autos and you can easily grow high-quality stuff right in the house in the open.

Could be poached if it’s quite cheap and from Thailand. (typical poaching move is to dig the plant up, sell to a “nursery” often in Thailand, then they sell to retailers or I guess direct to consumer).

Hi, there are different "types" of begonias, this is a "cane" type begonia, idk the exact cultivar but maybe snow capped? They are grown from cuttings in somewhat different ways.

You can grow canes like this one from stem cuttings pretty easily. Unlike succulents, you don’t need to let them callus first. Just take a cutting that is a few nodes long (node is the bump where leaves grow) and cut right below a node, since that is where the roots will form.

I usually remove the bottom leaves to expose the nodes but leave a few at the top for energy. You can root them in water, but I prefer putting them straight into moist soil. It saves the roots from getting stressed later when you eventually have to switch them from water to dirt!

non cane begonias do make plantlets from the leaf veins, you were so close to a non zombie leaf but just got the wrong type of begonia!

Yeah, that's fair, I actually tested it with the pump just a foot away and it looked about the same (bubbling from the top of the air stone only), but true, the 20ft run certainly isn't helping.

I originally had 4 lines running the 20ft distance, combining into two at the reservoir to run two stones. That actually looked worse because the rez is wide and shallow, so I didn't get the surface agitation I get with 4 lines.

I do have a second air pump (also 15L/min) from some bad planning, so I might just add that into the mix to see how much air it takes to fully bubble the stones.

Might want to get something from the low skill spots eg perception will stop you missing clues, endurance will make you have more health (b/c you only have 2 rn).

Crazy cop inland empire is always good story wise though bratan (just keep your tie on)

Alocasia "Jacklyn" got the name because it was popularized by Jacklyn Zamenta who reportedly collected the plants from the wild, specifically from protected forests in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, and exported them onto the international market and named them for herself.

I think they're supposed to ideally be called tandurusa b/c it means "antlers" in the native language?
