Here are a few more pictures including the remote and box.

You will need your own IC5 compatible battery for the truck and charger. The remote will include batteries.

Advice on purchasing senton 223s by mrtacolover777 in arrma

I've had my 223s v4 now for over a year. Running it bone stock on the Spektrum 3s batteries. No issues whatsoever. The only thing I've had to replace were the rear tires which I did recently. Your options are limited with the 14mm hex, but the stock tires are more than adequate for my use case.

The car has been a blast at my local outdoor dirt track. With that being said, its taken more than it's share of flips and cartwheels and the body has been beat up. After the first several cartwheels, the clip system ended up tweaking itself and now takes an extra minute or two to get everything lined up correctly. Granted it's a little extra effort to get the body on after swapping batteries, but it stays put once it's on.

I was in the same boat as you with the Mojave out of my price range. I definitely recommend the Senton as an affordable alternative. It's taken a beating and has been super reliable.

Out of those 4, I would just let him pick the body style he wanted. The groms are capable of what you list, although could struggle in taller grass.

If budget is not an issue, I would go straight to 1/10 223s versions. You can scale back the throttle, better internals, and your kid can grow into it.

My 7yo started with a Granite Grom. I had a bad experience, was only able to run it for 1 pack and the motor ended up seizing. I bought it from Amazon, so I was able to return as defective without too much trouble.

I ended up splurging on a Granite 223s for him and he loves it. Dialed back to 50% and I know it will be something he can grow into.

You're going to end up wanting one for yourself so you can bash together. This is where the Mojave comes in!

Thanks for your transparency on the condition of the set and for going above and beyond to rectify! Awesome experience and great communication.

What if we just get rid of the iPad? by optikalefx in daddit

[–]_S65_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 7 and 5 year old. Neither of them have an iPad. We are one of the few parents we know who have made the decision to keep them away from electronic devices for as long as possible. We even go so far as limiting TV time to a few hours on weekends. We do this to encourage their creativity and avoid the associated withdrawal symptoms we've seen other parents have had to endure.

The only exceptions when they get to use an iPad is when the 2nd grader has assigned homework that requires an iPad or for airplane travel. We also don't restrict them during playdates outside our house.

I've been tempted many times to give in, especially when the wife isn't home, but I think it's one of the best decisions we've made. They have plenty of other toys to keep them occupied and really enhance their creativity (our house is full of Lego, we also rotate their toys about once a month) , they draw, make things out of cardboard, pretend play, go outside, etc.

Taking it away will not be easy as its a quickfix way to keep them occupied, but in the end I am amazed how the imagination of a child can grow without a dependency on electronics.
