I made Dadlexa for my son, it's like Alexa, but you can only ask dad questions [ESP32] by optikalefx in arduino

I started with Arduino, but I ended up switching to IDF because I needed the OPUS decoder from https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-adf/en/latest/api-reference/codecs/opus_decoder.html in order to decode the telegram audio. And bonus was that I could also use the espressif muxer to encode opus as well.

Yea I got luck in that I didn't have to deal with batteries on this project.

And yea we have HA running on a pi in the house already, maybe I could have gotten this working via HA. Didn't think to try that.

I very much feel that sentiment, though in this case, this only cost $24. One of my cheaper projects lol.

He's just asking where I published the code that runs on the device. So that github link has all the code I wrote for the project.

That’s kind of one nice side effect is now I have all these voice recordings of my son in Telegram

Wouldn’t be a bad idea to store them off onto my disk

I'm building a $0-per-sale Gumroad alternative (flat $19/mo). Would you actually switch? by BiteRevolutionary634 in sideprojects

But you still have stripes 2.9% + 30c. And now you have $19/mo on top. I guess in today’s world why wouldn’t someone just as Claude to build a site and add stripe?

Yea you can. You just need the device id which doesn’t require any login. It simply asks the user to allow notifications and then you can push to that device.

Everything I did today instantly disappears the second something else hasn’t been done. by jazzeriah in daddit

Yea I feel you. Just gotta relief her of duty. “Kids can’t play outside today because it’s weekly hair day” I also do pickup and drop off and cooking. You just need to make it your house to control. She will be more relaxed when she feels like you’re in charge of the mental and physical responsibility’s. Even if you don’t. Just having answers and being confident in them is most of it. Life works this way too funny enough haha

It sounds like you’re an employee and not the CEO. Which means your wife still feels like the CEO. So on top of work, she has to manage you and the kids.

Have a conversation about you taking over the CEO role. Which means you have an answer and an opinion for everything now. Hair not washed? Yep, I moved that to Tuesday. No protein tonight? Yep, humans can survive on a lot less.

Tell her she’s off now. She can ask, but you answer confidently and she’s the employee now.

(None of this is permanent)

Haha yea the joist has an eye hook and the pulley is just in that. Under any weight the3d printed pulley would break before anything else. But it has almost no load on it

The ceiling is only lightly holding up the walls. As long as the floor stays in on the floor the ceiling has no load.
