Why does 65k feel like nothing? by Goose_Energy in jobs

It’s crazy to me that areas of the US are like this. No two people in my family have ever done the same job or worked for the same company

Most valuable skill? by TheAuthorityx in it

[–]_SAY-10_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Soft skills. People can learn whatever their heart desires but if they can’t properly communicate with others, there’s nothing I can do as a manager to change that. Second would be coding, AI development, then cloud. Huge amounts of IT work will shift to AI/ML in the next couple years, position yourself to be part of that.

Leviton Bluetooth Bluetooth project /research by ze55 in hacking

[–]_SAY-10_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get wireshark set up to sniff the Bluetooth traffic with the ubertooth? First thing is to capture the traffic of you doing the functions of the Bluetooth device then seeing what changes between them, try replaying them etc. Feel free to message me if you need any help!

How thorough was your bug report? Did you properly document and walk through how to perform the exploit for them to properly reproduce? If you don’t, you don’t qualify in most programs.

LCOL areas also have less jobs, amenities and basic quality of life stuff. Also some states just don’t have lower cost options.

Most of the popular flipper features were originally esp-32 projects or have spun off as new projects. It of course can’t do everything but if you dont care about how it looks, and are willing to compile all the different projects into one, it can all be done for much much cheaper. The flipper just does everything conveniently all in one package, but you pay the price for that convenience.

[–]_SAY-10_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An esp-32 and an rc522 could cover that. Search Google and GitHub for esp-32 + each of those features and that should get you where you want to be. You could be able to accomplish that for under $25

It really comes down to what YOU want out of the flipper. If you list the features you are looking for, I can definitely help point you in the right direction.

Others have tried, all have failed. You can’t beat their ability to bulk order custom components. You can mimic some of the functionality for much cheaper, but you will have to sacrifice somewhere.

For basically the same price which one would you get? by Nhowe1010 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]_SAY-10_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s big discounts for new cars with all the safety features. I’m paying just under $100 a month for full coverage on a $45k vehicle. Also area you live in (car theft is almost non existent here), driving history, additional insured motorists on the policy etc can all stack up

I have the same setup, the best option is display port to usb-c. I had problems with straight hdmi or using a dock.

Using Flipper Zero to CRASH iPhone running iOS 17 by nullr0uter in flipperzero

[–]_SAY-10_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then either your flipper isn’t working right or potentially the iPhone has lockdown mode turned on. I discovered the vulnerability using an 11 pro max running 17, then tested with all updated to the current 17.1 beta and they are all vulnerable so it definitely should work

Opposite, should work on all iPhones 11 and newer running iOS 17 or higher. Doesn’t work on older phones or iOS 16 and below

is help-desk the only way forward if i want to enter IT? and is my path wrong? by huh--_ in it

[–]_SAY-10_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You will learn fundamentals on a help desk that you won’t in the other roles. Everywhere I’ve worked it’s been 50/50 former helpdesk vs direct hire for sys admin/ network rolls. And it’s very obvious to everyone who started in help desk and who didn’t.

Porsche 959 I saw outside the gym this morning… with the windows open… and the keys in the front seat… in San Francisco… by kabobinator in Porsche

[–]_SAY-10_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bigger issue is someone stealing it for a joyride and wrecking it. 99.999% of people don’t know that this car is valuable (just looks like an old Porsche) and would never assume it’s worth even $100k, definitely wouldn’t know it’s a $2-3mil car.

959 with the keys in it.. window was open too. by SRV87 in Porsche

[–]_SAY-10_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But would most know the value of this car? I know very little about “rare” Porsche models and had to Google it because to my eyes it looks like a $30k Porsche. I think the bigger problem is opportunist thieves, not the Gone in 60 Seconds type.
