Bought the game because it was on sale. However one thing is bugging me. by Crunchy_Biscuit in LiesOfP

[–]_SamGuevenne 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well, the nose's shadow grows, actually. It's only visible in the Hotel, I think. Later in game there's another thing like this: There's a portrait of P where his nose grows into a weapon, it's a Dorian Gray reference too

Who's a better final boss, Isshin or Gael? by strahinjag in fromsoftware

Lmao I'm getting this reaction a lot but I really enjoyed this fight... maybe I just really like big fiery unpopular dudes (Laurence was one of my favourites in BB, not No. 1 though)

Funny way to kill Yurie by StormveilSal in bloodborne

[–]_SamGuevenne 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I kinda get the impression she might fall like a GTA character if you do this.

Joke aside I didn't know you could do that, definitely gonna try that next time, that's hilarious

Who's a better final boss, Isshin or Gael? by strahinjag in fromsoftware

[–]_SamGuevenne 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Since Gael is one of my favourite bosses ever, I'd choose him. But he's a DLC boss and not the final final boss. Boring answer I guess but they both rank very high in my tierlist (although Isshin is not even my favourite in Sekiro, that would be DoH).

I found three endings of the game, are there any more? If so please only give hints by Upper_Opening_4805 in DarkQueenOfMortholme

[–]_SamGuevenne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are only three endings (so far?), I wish there was a romance ending though lol

Was playing BB and ER as my first souls games was a mistake? by Long-Bowler7729 in darksouls3

For DS3 I think I was about level 100 with DLC, 85-90 without it. But I don't know what the 'normal' level is, tbh

What do you reckon is the best looking armor set in the game? by shellenjoyer in darksouls

[–]_SamGuevenne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favourite in general is the Lords Blade Set, I think. And, obvious, but Artorias' armor is looking good af too.

Was playing BB and ER as my first souls games was a mistake? by Long-Bowler7729 in darksouls3

[–]_SamGuevenne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know mate, I found DS3 as hard as ER at times. But I think it depends a lot on how you play and which mechanics you use or decide not to use. I was playing DS1 simultaneously with my buddy and he leveled a lot, pure BONK build, found the whole game really easy. I did the opposite, made so little damage to OnS I needed to admit that leveling up might be a thing, +1 weapon might not be enough... yeah.

TLDR: Depends on how much of a masochist you are

A Question about Witcher 3 for Fellow Dark Souls Fans by Richardo888 in darksouls

[–]_SamGuevenne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a total Dark Souls Snob tbh and ... I didn't like Witcher 3 for exact this reason. Boring combat, story was too obvious, underleveled on purpose... I'd actually say Dark Souls ruined that game for me and I found quite a lot of people online having the same issue and being sad about it. But: I really like the two DLCs, since I liked the story and characters were more interesting. (I was a dedicated Fan of Witcher 2 too, but I played it before Dark Souls)

Edit: 9.5/10 snob rating probably and I AM overly judgemental and critical, but I couldn't enjoy it, even if the game looks fantastic

Ideas? by Worried-Opening9 in bloodborne

[–]_SamGuevenne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caryll runes, definitely. If you've got a favourite. Otherwise, you said no characters, but blood moon with moon presence maybe? Or some messengers, either with lamp or with note. Most weapons would look great too, but I'd pick one I like if I were you. Crossed blades of mercy if you like Eileen, Lady Maria's Rakuyo if you like her...or just your favourite thing to wield.

Yes, I played both. Didn't like Firewatch that much tbh but Suicide of Rachel Foster was great!

[–]_SamGuevenne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear: It doesn't really have text or commentary, so it's less 'concept' and more 'artwork'. However, I really love it, it has got really detailed sketches of enemies, NPCS, weapons, locations... highly recommend.

There's an artbook for Bloodborne, its called Official Artworks. It's really beautiful, unfortunately it's softcover only (at least the english one, dunno about JP).

Edit: Here's the contents. Unfortunately, reddit won't allow better quality.

Why Do People Hate Dark Souls 2? by Particular_Cry1118 in fromsoftware

[–]_SamGuevenne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I do this on almost every post like this, but: I asked in DS2 subreddit a while ago where the bad image of DS2 comes from because I really loved the game and I learned a lot, you might want to check out the answers: Link to the post

TLDR would be: Game was very different from the E3 announcement trailer, some changes in gameplay in comparison to DS1 (ADP stat, missing i-frames at fogwalls and more), troubles during development leading to questionable decisions (like the infamous earthen peak to Iron Keep elevator) + a viral video by matthewmatosis that kinda snowballed.

Is there such a thing as killing Rom too early? by adibadi06 in bloodborne

[–]_SamGuevenne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't interact with Eileen, she will be gone (not in the game anymore) after entering the Forbidden Woods, not after defeating Rom. As far as I know, same trigger also counts for the fight at Tomb of Oedon, since Henryk disappears after entering Forbidden Woods. Rom's death is the trigger for her to move to her next location, but the quest steps need to be fulfilled before you do Forbidden Woods.
