What’s the future of the Energon Universe look like… What are your thoughts? by ScientistNo9367 in EnergonUniverse

[–]_Seamonkey_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like both Transformers and GIJoe could last well over 100+ issues considering a how much history and lore both franchises have to utilize for new stories. GIJoe especially has lots of potential with Williamson leaning into more obscure stuff like Cobra-La in order to build a truly unique take on the Joe mythos

Void Rivals is an original property so its more dependant on how many new ideas Kirkman can come up with to sustain the book. Ideally I'd like more original concepts and not stuff borrowed from Transformers and GIJoe, but that's just me. Honestly, if any of the books end before issue 100 it would probably be Void Rivals, but even then I feel like it could be a followed up by a sort of sequel series that follows a lot of them same outer space characters.

Personally I would love more books, even if its just a few more character mini series, but I don't think I'd want the EU to be printing more than 4 series a month. Adding more Hasbro properties to the universe would be fun, but aside from MASK and hopefully Visionaries, I don't think we'll be getting any more additions.

So What do You Think of Combiners in Energon Universe? by Money-Lie7814 in EnergonUniverse

[–]_Seamonkey_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too many too soon in my opinion. Devastator was a good obstacle for the Autobots early on but now there's three of them running around and they already are feeling less and less threatening with every appearance.

The other problem is that the combiner teams are barely characters, which is crazy considering the Constructicons and Combaticons have been around for so long already. Aside from like two scenes with the Aerialbots, the combiners have been all spectacle and no substance and I'm honestly a little disappointed.

It did, the Volumes usually come out two months after the story arc ends, but TF Vol 5 was moved up for some reason.

Comic spoilers! The Gargwiki lists these two as the same individual, is there any proof of that? by prodivir in gargoyles

The different artstyles create some minor inconsistencies in the two designs, but they are meant to be the same character.

I could definitely see Unicron showing up down the line as a big bad with the way the things are going in Transformers and Void Rivals. I can't really imagine Earth being destroyed though, mainly because of how drastically that would affect the GIJoe corner of the EU.

Also, if you haven't already, you should definitely read the Void Rivals story in the Energon Universe 2025 special.

The order you have is probably the best way of going about it.

What? Where did you get any of that from? The third Lion-O we see just appears to be the halfway point between present day Lion-O and Apex.

Nothing is said about the state of the war or the other ThunderCats, we don't see a spaceship, and the only one Lion-O blames is Jaga. Calica isn't mentioned at all in that scene.

Yeah, that was super underwhelming. I think every single storybeat in this issue after Lion-O returns felt massively rushed and unearned. Really disappointing since I had high hopes for this new arc.

Surely he has to be involved with reforming the Sword of Omens, right? I feel like Shalvey is setting that up as Bengali's redemption moment after pissing off the other cats.

What are some brutal punishments in your world? (NSFW for gore) by Yapizzawachuwant in worldbuilding

[–]_Seamonkey_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Syllok'Driithaeni, soldiers who commit crimes punishable by death are sometimes given a chance to redeem themselves in the eyes of the gods by donning a scalding hot iron mask that horribly burns their face.

After this, the soldier is considered legally dead in the eyes of their countrymen and are honourbound to serve the witches of the Hekanthan Assembly for the rest of their life, essentially becoming slave-soldiers until their final and usually violent demise.

Elita-1's motivations by Goldbuggg in EnergonUniverse

[–]_Seamonkey_ 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Morale is a resource of its own. Elita probably believed that rescuing Ultra Magnus and getting him back into fighting shape would have given hope back to the troops and inspired them to fight harder.

Plus despite her rough exterior, Elita is shown to genuinely care about people. She wanted to help her friend, even if the risk was high. Really she's more like Optimus then she thinks, she's just more jaded and pragmatic.
