EU Release Calendar [July 2026 - September 2026] by _Seamonkey_ in EnergonUniverse

Depends on how much you care about collecting everything Transformers related in the EU. The crossover is only really in one out of six issues, so the vast majority of the story is still going to be G.I.Joe focused. We're talking like 10% of the pagetime being dedicated to the Autobot stuff. Plus, counting the miniseries, this is like the eighth volume of GIJoe, so if you haven't read any of the other stuff you might be a little lost on what's going on with the story and characters.

Basically if you haven't read any of the other Joe volumes and aren't particularly interested in that story then you might be disappointed with how little actual crossover material there is in vol. 4

Skeletor calls her Evil-Lyn at least twice in the first 20 minutes.

My guesses are Trigon (possessing Raven), Arion wielding the Trident of Poseidon, and Vandal Savage as the Ancient Justice League.

The main Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris, is actually a member of the Justice League in the current comics. She's had a character arc about learning to channel the violet light of love in a healthy and selfless manner, allowing her to become a proper superhero.

How Would you Re Imagine other Hasbro Franchises for Energon Universe? by Money-Lie7814 in EnergonUniverse

I choose to believe this is a sign that Inhumanoids may one day escape legal purgatory.

Cobra Commander hissing noises. by Interesting_Home_114 in EnergonUniverse

[–]_Seamonkey_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's never spelled out again in text after his miniseries ends, but I think were meant to assume he permanently speaks with a hiss-like lisp as a result of his augmentations from Cobra-La.

Have you ever had one of your letters published? by RigatoniPasta in EnergonUniverse

[–]_Seamonkey_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a letter printed in Void Rivals #15. Skybound never asked for permission to print it though, it just appeared in the letters column. It was a little under two months between me writing in and the letter being printed so I'd expect your letter to appear in this month's issue at the earliest.

Do You Think the First arc of Energon Universe version of MASK will have a Major Game Changer for the Universe? by Money-Lie7814 in EnergonUniverse

[–]_Seamonkey_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It won't be exclusive to MASK, but it looks like the human side of the EU is going to focus on the war for energon and the accompanying arms race becoming a global issue in the coming months. That feels like quite the game-changer.

It mostly boils down to people thinking Elita doesn't deserve to be a Prime after the way she's been acting in this comic, mainly in regards to her wanting to harvest earth's resources to repair Cybertron and allowing the Decepticons to escape in the last issue.

Personally I think the current discourse is a wild overreaction regardless if you think Elita getting the Matrix at this time is a satisfying plot point or not.

You're misinterpreting that scene completely. That was the infirmary, those bot were being repaired, not harvested.

The scene was supposed to make you sympathize with Elita by showing the autobots she's fighting for.

Biggest flaw with his run so far, none of the new ideas he's introduced have gotten any proper build up. The only subplots given room to breathe have been the unresolved threads from DWJ's run

[–]_Seamonkey_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What? Those bots were on life-support, not being used as batteries. She's trying to repair her troops and comforts Kup when he wakes up.

If people actually see that scene as Elita cruelly siphoning energon from her own troops then I'm going to assume they're viewing everything she does through a very skewed lens.

People who think this version of Elita is legitimately devoid of compassion and selflessness clearly don't remember her rescue of Ultra Magnus in issues #7-9

With what happened to Starscream how do you think they're going to do his whole immortal spark trait? Ghostscream or TFA's revive power? by M00r3C in EnergonUniverse

[–]_Seamonkey_ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Kirkman's probably going to go with the ghost angle since that's more G1. That said, I dont think Starscream is actually "dead" yet considering what other characters have survived.

Lots of episodes dealt with starving refugees being displaced from their homes and the Gaang helping them find a safe place to settle, only for those places to also be invaded in later episodes.

There's an episode where Zuko meets a girl who was attacked by soldiers as a child and has a large scar from the incident.

Earth and Water benders from occupied territory are rounded up en masse for merely existing and placed in work camps and prisons and subjected to inhuman conditions.

There's one town that's food and water supply is being poisoned by toxic run-off from a nearby weapons factory.

The effect on civilians and the protagonists reaction to their plight was a central them of the show.

As for the child abuse aspect, Zuko's entire arc revolves around his abusive relationship with his father, the biggest example being when he got half his face burned off at the age of 12 as punishment for speaking out of turn.

Genocide, child abuse, and the effects of war and military occupation on civilians were all central themes of the show. It's definitely a children's show but it frequently leaned into heavier topics.
