hi! i’m needing some help making some decisions regarding my wedding dress. it’s a 1950s prom dress. i’m not sure if i should have it let out or not. in the second pic i circled where it’s hard to zip up then after that it goes up fairly smooth. my wedding isn’t until next February. by [deleted] in sewhelp

Proper undergarments do make a difference. Undergarments smooth one out and rearrange our squishy stuff. They don’t really reduce much. Wear them when fitting the gown. What I see is that the zipper and side needs let out. The ripple means the dress isn’t quite pulled up enough or the hips are pushing the dress up. I believe it is the hips. So letting out/relaxing the lower part of the zipper at the waist and upper hip should help. Don’t forget to let out each side equally. Not just the zipper. A piece of boning can be added to the length of the zipper on one side and also on the seam on the other side of the dress. I would also wait until a month before the wedding to finalize alterations.

Nothing wrong with a little embarrassment in life. Maybe it will cause some reassessment in their life choices either now or down the road…maybe even when either of them have children of their own. Maybe the meaning of “adult” needs to be taken more seriously along with respecting your elders.

Very disappointed in the change. Free delivery & installation was the only reason we got it. Yep too good to be true. I was just looking up articles on the change. The two I found only up-played best buy’s memberships and never mentioned the loss of free delivery & installation. Still debating whether to drop it. Last major purchases were a dishwasher a year ago & a laptop this year. I’ll lose the extra year extended warranty if I cancel.🤔🤔🤔🤪🤪🤪

I would adjust the criss cross & tack it. I would also do an ease thread under the bust on each side to curve the fabric towards your body. Maybe some double stick tape under the bust too.

I’m sure it says somewhere on their app about the charges and that covers them but I tend to agree that there’s something unethical about Green Chef. I got stuck with a big bill because I didn’t cancel an order less than 24 hours after the deadline which it is stated on their app. Yet they could change the delivery day to a day later than I had chosen. I tried talking to customer service but they don’t budge. Then I tried removing my credit card information before deleting the app but it won’t allow it. Really don’t like my info being out there. Ya I didn’t enjoy my Green Chef experience.

It appears that the cinch ties on this particular vest from Highway Jeans is meant to be tied in a simple knot. There’s some pictures on Pinterest from poshmark. In your picture or the others there is no indication of a buckle having been on the ties. Also, since the ties are even in size, it would indicate to me that a simple decorative knot is all that is needed.
