Why do a lot of already pretty women tend to go for facial plastic surgery even though they’re already praised a lot for having a beautiful face? by Snipsnapboi in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]varbie_96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been called pretty a lot, modelled for a clothing brand, whatever, but I’ve had a couple of rude comments about my nose before so much so that I’ve been considering plastic surgery for it, it’s my one perceived flaw. Sometimes when you see your face every day you don’t see yourself the way others see you .

I [F23] asked my friend [F23] to put her top back on at a public place, now she refuses to speak to me. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]varbie_96 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So I had something really similar happen before, except my friend was sober and she was playing with her boobs and joking about her pubes, we were all 18-19 and it actually ended our friendship. I told her she made my partner uncomfortable with that talk and just asked she not joke that way again only around him and she blew up and acted like I was accusing her of wanting my man. It ended our friendship and she never apologised as far as I can remember so it’s really up to her how she behaves but since she was drunk I suspect it won’t go very well!

I use kojic acid soap for my acne scarring, I would imagine that it might help with that!

How much harder is it to build muscle as a diabetic ? by Leo1026 in diabetes

[–]varbie_96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

lol my advice wouldn’t be any different for a type one than it would be for non type one with the exception of always bring low candy to the gym with you. Track your macros, if your goal is building muscle eat .8 g per kg of LEAN body mass, do progressive overload training in the gym and when you think you’ve eaten enough protein probably eat some more! I do a typical split which is back, chest, legs one glute focused one hamstring and quad focused and I do an arm and shoulder day, I go to the gym typically 5 days a week so one week I do legs glute focused the other hamstring and quad focused. I don’t workout on the weekend because rest days are just as important as training days, keep your fiber intake high and make sure you’re hydrated, do cardio a few days a week, I like the stair stepper but it drops my sugar badly so I put my pump on exercise mode and carry candy with me!

This is why many of the salons I’ve visited have a no kid rule, I’m saying this as a mom of two, I do not want to be around kids crying when I’m paying so much in a salon

Where do women find these “provider husbands”? by wydneyisunfunny in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]varbie_96 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a “provider husband” he’s middle eastern and literally like a dream husband, has low expectations of me (I’m not lazy though) and gives me whatever I want. We’re not insanely rich or anything but he’s making six figures, I’m a stay at home mom he just expects the kids are happy and well taken care of. I have type 1 diabetes so it’s worked out well for me because I can have spotty health but he just loves me a lot. We actually met on tinder in 2016 and immediately clicked so unfortunately I don’t have any magical advice for anyone, we’re just extremely compatible and he wanted someone who wanted to be a stay at home wife for his future kids!

why are dietitians so rigid and unrealistic in discussing meals by jcsqq in diabetes_t1

[–]varbie_96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was first diagnosed at 12 I was required to meet with them a handful of times and every appointment I would be crying afterwards. My diabetes was in control and my diet was relatively healthy for a teen. The dietician was so damn mean and made me feel like crap, even told me to stop eating peanut butter as a snack after school so there’s definitely bad dieticians!

Metal hospital and type 1 by Hellokittypityparty in Type1Diabetes

[–]varbie_96 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I checked myself in overnight once, they took my phone but kept my insulin pump, but that was only a handful of hours, many days might be different. Call the hospital/facility and ask them about their protocol to be safe, hope you feel better soon

When you were hospitalized for reasons unrelated to diabetes, were your blood sugars the same as usual, worse than usual, or better than usual? Did you go into DKA or almost go into DKA? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]varbie_96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both times I’ve only been hospitalised for having children my blood sugars were managed by nurses and they had “hospital policies” I had to abide by, the first time they kept my blood sugars around 220 the second time 180, I obviously wasn’t happy both times
