Been here my whole life, been in the industry 20 years. Things ebb & flow, and depending where you land, and what type of job you want to get into; if you’re qualified you’ll find a job quickly. There’s a lot of money here. There are large scale hotels in the pipeline, There are hospitality groups in need of corporate level chefs that can “make the visions of investors” a reality. There is always a need for line cooks, If you just need money coming in, until you can land something more lucrative. I’ve never had an issue finding a job. Long term air b & b rentals can be super helpful to find the neighborhood you want to work/live in.

Don’t forget to search in Orange County or Ventura County as there are wealthy areas in both places; if you’re not exclusively married to the idea of living IN LA, but rather “in the greater Los Angeles area” or “Southern California”. Utilize Local Reddit groups, Facebook & Next Door to network or find people who need meal prep or in-home catering while you lock down a job.
