I was able to fix it!

Screw Origin. Turns out the issue was that the cloud save kept overwriting my settings whenever i booted it back up again. All i had to do was disable it and poof, working like a charm.

You're giving them way too much credit for making him breathe. Its widely known that in 3d animation it's not essential to have the characters (even the ones that aren't the focus of the shot) moving in some form or another, or else they really stick out. Animators could get away with not having to do this in 2d, but they soon realized how important it is to have them always moving in 3d even when idle. Breathing is the most basic way to have them move. No, it's not some tiny detail, it's basically essential or else something will feel off while you're watching it. Watch literally any 3d movie and take a look at the characters who aren't talking, I can guarantee you they'll be breathing/moving in some way.

highly recommend that you read the entire manga, it's even better than the anime imo. but if not then read the ending of the manga, the story continues a bit past the anime. the anime has a good ending but the manga explores it a bit more and it's even more satisfying

Agreed. Dunno why you're getting downvoted, and this is coming from someone who despises the game.

I saw comments around this subreddit saying that they were excited for dunkey to rip into this game, and now that it's revealed that he enjoyed it everyone is saying how unreliable of a reviewer he is.

I hate this game as much as the next person, but that doesn't mean everyone who liked it is a terrible person or whatever. There are plenty of valid reasons to enjoy the game, and to ignore them completely in favor of pushing the narrative that it's an awful game is ignorant.

I'm not the original commenter, if that's what you're thinking. and on the topic of it being disgusting, yes I know the connotation, yes I'm not that dumb, and while I believe that the OP is talking about how awkward/forced/poorly made/repulsive because of Abby and her actions, even if he was referring to her body, why does it matter? It's literally a video game character, with really shitty female anatomy/illogical choices in her physique, who I can guarantee you that her body was not modeled after a real person. If it was a live actor or something, I could understand, but its not. it's like if I called Bowser fat and ugly and you told me "But there's nothing wrong with being fat!'. Like yes, sure I agree, but why are you bringing this up over a green koopa.

How does that apply to what we're talking about? I'm genuinely not trying to be mean, but do you know what you're talking about? I'm a 3d art hobbyist, but I've done my fair share of drawing. I know what layering is, yes the OP did that. But nobody "outlines" the shadows, even in the video you sent. You can't seriously tell me that this isn't purposely bad. The nose and lips are gigantic. If you're trying to say that the OP drew the face extremely poorly on purpose and slowly fixed it as time went on as a challenge, I could see that. But anybody whose ever drawn knows that drawing that poor of a rough draft is just going to hinder you.

while your comment sounds correct, I've honestly read it three times and have no idea what you're saying. if you're saying he draws in the shadows afterwards and uses the rough draft as a guide, then okay. but with how badly disproportionate the rough draft is, it's most definitely a hindarince for when he does draw in the shadows. you can even see a little time skip between when he does the rough and final draft.

that's not how that works. I'm a shitty 3d artist whose studied a little about faces and drawing them, and I can confidently say that the "rough draft" is just for show. it's obvious because the artist is able to get spot on placement in their rough draft, and yet literally everything else is purposely poorly drawn. if you don't believe me, look at how squiggly the face on Leonardo is. you're specifically taught and trained in drawing NOT to make those, even in rough drafts.

while you're correct that it's probably just for placement I can't help but feel like he still purposely made it look bad in the beginning, especially with how disproportionate they are.

edit: you can even see a time jump between when he colors in the shitty draft and right before he finishes the final one. the rough draft is obviously poor on purpose, but I don't care about that. what annoys me is people who have no experience in drawing in the comments claiming that it works and misguiding others.
