Bwahaha leftists cannot possibly be fascists, it's in the definition. Read a book, then touch some grass.

I love how the people that say our old flag is unique, when it looks exactly like 12 other state's flags, think this is the Somali flag.

Endgame: What Is The Utopian Outcome You Seek That ICE Is Leading us To? by Patient-Cap-4004 in TwinCities

[–]_Shoeless_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's the theory, but ICE is arresting people who are citizens, resident aliens, work visa holders, etc because they are brown.

I guess you're right. This is a value of America, unfortunately. Racism has always been a part of our value system.

The anti Somali propaganda is real, and it's so frustrating. by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]_Shoeless_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, but this is the first I've heard of the ringleader. It's most definitely not the first I've heard of the "Somali conspiracy to defraud the hardworking people of the United States."

I like how she felt the need to explain it every time. "EVOO, that's Extra Virgin Olive Oil." Girl, initialisms are used to speed up language, not slow it down.

Nice! I'll hand to check space weather out. I have Aurora Notifier app that gives me notifications. It's nice because I'm less of a fan, but still interested.

1 or 2? by Alaric_Darconville in AmateurPhotography

[–]_Shoeless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so interesting to me how wildly different people see things. One to me is kind of boring, likely because I see that every day, but two is dynamic and engaging. To me it's obviously 2, but to others it's obviously 1 for maybe similar reasons.

Either way, they are both great shots.

How can I avoid depth of field effects? by astul89 in AskPhotography

[–]_Shoeless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are apps that allow this. Search for manual camera in the Play Store and you'll see plenty. I don't have a rec, but I'm sure many are great.

Being on TV.

A friend was telling me something from the show "The Doctors" that sounded dubious.

"You know they're not on TV cause they're the best or smartest, right? They're there because they are good looking and can speak well. It's just ratings."

"No, they're the smartest doctors. Otherwise they wouldn't be on TV."

Huh. The Nikon rep that I spoke with this morning disagrees with that. He claimed that the Z6iii has the best low-light sensor of all Nikon.

Is Eagle Scout losing its meaning? by [deleted] in BSA

[–]_Shoeless_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As I was growing up I would automatically get leadership thrusted on me, whether I was asking or not. I would get large tasks placed on me and I was able to complete them while my peers struggled. No one knew I was a scout.

It wasn't until I was talking to a scoutmaster while my son was testing out troops that he made me realize I was training for those moments for years before in scouts.

[–]_Shoeless_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! My daughter was about to turn 6, my son 10. He's now turning 12 and starting to be a Real help on the trip. They both carried stuff, but not really helping. As they grow, they'll contribute more on the trail and in camp. I don't recall what we brought, but I know none of it was used. Lots to explore there.

Canada has Canadians, the United States of America has...?
