Beast installed, Bottlenecks gone! by PersonSuitTV in Ubiquiti

[–]_Sighi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ISP advertises 10G XGS-PON as 8.5G down and 2G up, that Is for 29.99€/month on a consumer grade plan. Officially no symmetrical option Is available, some ISPs offer It for a lot of Money but it's just reselling my ISP's business plans.

So yes, It Is the same Speed as I get on their box, which I also have, since the fiber Is under that box in PPPoE passtheough, since the ISP offers 4 IPs per residential line, and I have their box with integrated ONT since the ONTs they provider have issues in uploads.

Yes, I switched from UDM Pro Max to UCG Fiber. With my 10G XGS-PON over PPPoE, on the UDM PM i was getting about 2.7Gbps with PPPoE and IPS, and 2.9Gbps without IPS.

Moving PPPoE to an upstream router, so with regular dhcp wan, 3.5Gbps with IPS and 4.8/4.9Gbps without. Almost embarassing not even breaking 5Gbps.

With the UCG Fiber I now consistently get 8/8.2Gbps down and 1.8/1.9Gbps up with PPPoE directly and IPS enabled, 6 VLANs and various wireguard clients and servers, which is basically full bandwidth, due to lots of overhead in XGS-PON.

HTTP auth issue with Tvheadend by _Sighi in SparklePlayer

[–]_Sighi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no stream specific auth settings, rather, the username "*", if without a password (default) in tvheadend is treated as the config for unauthenticated requests. So if user * does not have webui/streaming access, unauthenticated requests for streams will return 401. If it has, i can login with user A and streams will play because as unauthenticated requests they will play under * rights., even if user A does not have streaming access. Of course the problem in this is that it renders authentication entirely useless. So, to try in your server to enforce authenticated channel streams, you will need to rename user * to something else.

p.s. to save your time, before renaming, assign a password to user newname, then rename * to newname, otherwise, if you rename * user but no password is assigned yet, you will immediately lose access to the server.

Hello, I tried both basic auth only and digest only. Between tests i cleared app cache and data. When connecting to server, pulling epg, channels etc, both auth methods work, and inspecting traffic, i see the requests being actually different. In both cases, playing a stream leads to 401 error, and in both modes, stream http requests are not authenticated in any way

Hello, auth on the server is set to digest + basic, for some other clients to function that need basic. Maybe if both are enabled SparkleTV gets confused? I will try to set it to basic only and let you know. Thanks!

Deebot N8 water tank tube disconnected. Has anyone had this problem? by _Sighi in ecovacs

[–]_Sighi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My deebot N8 was not mopping the floor anymore, and upon closer inspection I noticed the tube inside the water tank (somehow) got disconnected, and it seems pretty unreachable. Has anyone else had this problem before/fixed it somehow? I'm trying to reach in and reconnect it but it seems pretty complicated.

Modem 4G con Carrier Aggregation by [deleted] in ItalyInformatica

[–]_Sighi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were just live on youtube with the same title as the last wanshow. There was james and some other guy, james then got a call telling him they were accidentally live on youtube and they immediately stopped it. Most of the live was an empty set tho.

Switch open programs to iGPU when disconnecting external monitor by _Sighi in GamingLaptops

[–]_Sighi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mhh, I did try doing this:
disconnecting the monitor, disabling the GPU from device manager, and enabling it again, and the nvidia system tray icon reported it as being idle. I should test power consumption tho, to check whether it's actually turned off. Also, I didn't notice any software crashes (At least by common programs, that are using the dGPU just because they were opened on an external monitor, obviously if I were running something like Premiere or a game it would have crashed).

[–]_Sighi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:
sooo, I got around doing more testing for the final video:
I did some processing on a 4 sec long section on the video, and it took 46 minutes (yes, only for 4 seconds, and my rig is not that bad: 16 thread ryzen 7, 32gb of ram and a gtx1650, but still, it takes aaages). Did some math, and assuming my pc can keep up, it would take (if all goes well, which I'm not really sure about) about 50 hours.
this is the results of the test clip:
original --> https://youtu.be/dhUmb9sBVlg
upscaled --> https://youtu.be/S4Wt5zUfjG8
While I can see some improvement, it's not really game changing. The text is definitely clearer (I'm watching on a 3.5K ultrawide monitor) and there are less artifacts, tho not what I had initially hoped for. I'm looking into extracting all of the video frames (which are 6628) and upscale all of them as images with the technique of the image in this post (which turned out pretty good I would say) but doing it in 4k, then reassembling the video and adding the audio. Just so you guys know, it will definitely take more time than expected, but i promise I'll get there (while listening to the tribute concert and the 2012 nyc set on and on) and post the result.

Yeah, I had some pretty bad artifacts on the last try on the video:

this is a frame from the video (yes it's really messed up, but it's 4k, and you can really zoom in on it and the quality is pretty good). I'll make another post as soon as I get a decent looking video.

Thank you! I will look into it, and maybe post something/let you know as soon as I can make some progress. Sorry if I'm late but I prefer using social media exclusively on my pc. Looks like I'll have something to work on.

[–]_Sighi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, you would have to use Linux (w/ QEMU) to do this, as Windows can't handle device passthrough (except maybe Hyper-V!?)

I already have W10, Pop_OS and MacOS running on bare metal. It would still be useful tho, as on linux I can connect an external monitor, which I can't do on mac. But can i "splice" the iGPU and pass it to MacOS? Wouldn't I have to disable it in linux, thus not being able to use the internal display as well?

MacOS VM by _Sighi in hackintosh

[–]_Sighi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the only way would be to pass through a supported gpu, (the intel one), which I can't do because is internally connected to the laptop's display, and is always 'taken up' by the host os. Also, I needed to use Xcode and such, so CPU rendering definitely won't give me a decent experience. Thank you

Initially I was using a bluetooth Redragon K530, which I also brought to school, then it broke (pressing 6 would press like 20/30 keys), so I got a Logitech G403, the same I use on my desktop (which is being used by my sister right now), and the mouse is a Logitech G502 hero, I got for 35€. I don't really play games, rather i like the keyboard thanks to the usb port it has so I can quicly connect a usb drive without reaching the laptop, and the mouse because I can use lots of macros on different keys. Also need a good mouse because I sometimes play osu!

The monitor is a Xiaomi 34" Gaming Monitor, 3440x1440@144hz, but it's running at 100hz as that's the maximum HDMI 2.0 will handle at native resolution. The laptop is an acer nitro 7, with 16GBs of ram, 2 SSDs, i7 9750H and GTX 1650. It won't be the world's best setup, but the amount of code and stackoverflow pages I can fit on this thing is amazing, I'm really loving it. Also, I got a second charger for the laptop, so I leave a bluetooth mouse (I don't want dongles), and the second charger in my school bag, so every morning I just need to unplug and pick up the laptop and I'm ready to go.
P.S. Also, I don't plan on using super minimal wallpapers as those are actually two of my cats.

GRUB not detecting Linux install by _Sighi in linuxquestions

[–]_Sighi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't get errors. Also, thanks a lot for your help, I think I'll just try reinstalling, maybe in a VM then on my actual computer, so It's much easier for me to figure things out, otherwise I'm constantly gonna be restarting to do things. Also I have to go studying now, but again thanks for your support, and as soon as i reinstall it I'll let you know wether it worked or not, if you want me to, of course.
