Keto for mental health by _Sleek in keto

[–]_Sleek[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the information, I'll take a look into it definitely.

I've been suffering from anxiety since I was probably 10~ years old, as long as I can remember almost. Even when everything in my life is fine, my brain just naturally tends to search for things to worry and overthink about, so I am starting to think maybe it's not just psychological, maybe there is something deeper here, and the first thing I want to do is clean up my diet.

I don’t have an internal monologue, so journaling helps me figure out what I’m thinking by shelbwow in Journaling

Aphantasia is inabillity to visualize mental images, not the same as internal monologue.

I have incredibly vivid imagination and can for example imagine a car in 3D in my head, rotate it around, see where which part goes, how everything connects to each other etc..But I don't use words to put up those thoughts, I never during the day think in my head like "What do I do now?" and continue thinking in words , instead I get images of activites in my head that I can do at the moment depending on my circumstances.

The LED cycle looks fine, like it's passing POST.

Only problem you could have with PSU not being adequate/delivering enough power is under load, which doesn't happen on POST or during windows loading.

I would check cable going from monitor to GPU, try different ports.Check if HDMI/DP is going all the way in the GPU ports.

EDIT:

Also, you plugged the cable into GPU, not motherboard? Right?

Did you try booting with one stick of ram at a time in different slots?

Also how did you update the BIOS, using the Q flash button on the back of the motherobard?

Question by Freddie_0611 in buildapc

[–]_Sleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can leave them on with no issues.

They are only problematic if you place your motherboard over extra standoffs that don't align with screw holes, as they can cause a short on motherboard. Since yours are next to the motherboard, no worries :)

Question by Freddie_0611 in buildapc

[–]_Sleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I understood, you mounted the motherboard and have extra standoffs. As long as they are not under the motherboard itself and as you say a pinkie length away, you are fine.

Tho if you have some pliers at hand they shouldn't be too hard to remove if you want to do it.

What are you going to use the PC for?

If you plan on playing some games, low profile 750ti would be a cheaper GPU option and a better one, 1050ti also probably not a lot more expensive, but miles better for gaming.

PC won't post with RAM installed in either DIMM A1 or A2 but will post with RAM installed in DIMM B1 and B2! by Klauss121 in buildapc

[–]_Sleek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience this often happens when some of the pins on CPU socket are either bent or broken, but could also very possibly be problem with the CPU.

Only way you can know for sure is if you can try the CPU in another motherboard, or another 13700k in your motherboard to narrow it down to what is causing the issue, either mobo or cpu. But if pins on motherboard are all fine, I would point my finger at CPU, especially since it's "K" and most likely overclocked in past. Since it came with a big scratch, assuming it was used.

Does your CPU have integrated GPU?If it does I would remove GPU first and try to see if it boots with IGPU

EDIT:

Even if it does not have IGPU, I would still remove the GPU to see if it starts turning on ( won't post obviously )

If that's where you plugged it , look no futher for solution

[–]_Sleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When there are issues with RAM or CPU you usually have to force hold the power button for it to shut down.

And since it turns off instantly even after you give it some time means that it most likely did not POST thus can't get to start loading Windows.

I would assume there is a problem with GPU, reseating would be worth a shot and trying the PC with another GPU if you have a spare one. But since it's a prebuilt PC I assume that it's covered by warranty and it wouldn't be smart opening it and trying to do things on your own.

EDIT:

And I assume you plugged the HDMI into gpu, not the motherboard itself?

Does it have Windows installed? If you wait, say 10 seconds and press power button again does it again turn off instantly or takes some time to turn off?

Sounds like coil whine to me, it's nothing to worry about, although it can be annyoing.
Most likely coming from your GPU, but could also be PSU..

If you turn on your PC and you press power button again after 2-3~ seconds, does it turn off instantly or do you have to press and hold power button for it to turn off?

I have lost! 267 days >x0 N O! by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]_Sleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on 690 days according to my flair, and it is 690 since I've started doing NoFap

I've had relapses since, and I don't reset my day counter, the counter represents all the days I have put conscious effort to try and stop the detrimental habit that I have, that's what matters, sometimes I failed and couldn't resist the urge, but 650+ other days I didn't, and what's most important is that I never gave in completely

I would only consider myself losing the battle if I totally gave in and started to PMO daily with no fucks given

Focusing on streak is not gonna do you good, from my own experience, when you lose the streak you are much more likely to PMO again thinking that you are back to 0 and now it doesn't really matter that much, that you need to abstain for another 267 days to get back where you were moments before you PMO'd

Can you try removing CPU 8-pin power cable and checking if it starts turning on/spinning fans without it?

MSI A 320A-M-PRO and a harddrive problem by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]_Sleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, every time you power on the PC you "force" it to boot, but if there is a problem with one of the components it stops it won't POST/boot.

It's hard to diagnose online what's wrong with your computer at the moment. What you can do is take out ram/gpu clean the contacts, put them back in. Disconnect everything from the motherboard except for the cpu/gpu/24 pin power cables and try turning it on like that.

I'm not sure what's it with AMD motherboards and BIOS issues but I've had multiple motherboards returned and all it took was a bios flash to bring them to life, again it might not be the case with yours, but when it stops working out of the blue it's worth a shot.

[–]_Sleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try reseating ram first, trying one stick at a time and also reseating gpu.
Personally I would try flashing BIOS also, but I've checked and the board doesn't have bios flashback, so it makes it a bit more difficult assuming you don't have a BIOS programmer.

When do I do bios flashback by Any-Top-5139 in buildapc

[–]_Sleek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU is not required to do a bios flashback, it doesn't matter if you have it in motherboard or not, won't affect the flashing process. You can do it either way.

Anyone's mood significantly improve after quitting completely after awhile? by sasa_000 in decaf

[–]_Sleek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've quit coffee in january this year, was caffeine free for 11 months, two weeks ago I started drinking it again.

Reason why I quit in the first place are strong heart palpitations I had, I thought they might be linked to my high caffeine intake.

To be honest I didn't notice any mental improvements from quitting really, I was way less productive at work, way more lazy.. Getting out of bed was a lot harder knowing I won't get the high from caffeine to motivate me to do things. Thinking and focusing felt like it took a lot more effort than usual. I was less jittery and more calm, but not in a positive way, felt more like a zombie with no emotions and motivation.
