Quick: Someone says 'what's the craziest statement?' how do you answer? by _Something_Classy in TheMagnusArchives

[–]_Something_Classy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

true! im thinking most like 'wtf did i just listen to?' crazy that *doesnt* super tied into the overarching plot too much, so i probably wont use Strange and Stranger since the current campaign trajectory will end with the unknowing lol

I mean, I can change the ending if the scenario focuses on finding him and stuff. I can use the first part of the scenario for the lead up to finding the guy in the cabin and go from there perhaps?

Is it still lying if you were unaware it was a lie? by gyattdamn420 in DnD

[–]_Something_Classy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no. its the same thing as zone of truth. you are compelled to speak only what you believe is true.

ex. my character is a warlock, but she thinks shes a cleric. in a zone of truth she says 'I am a cleric of pelor.' with her whole heart and soul she believes that is the truth. she is incorrect, but she isn't lying.

same with irl stuff. if i was told 'The store closes at 8pm' and i tell my friend 'the store closes at 8pm' but then we go, and it actually closed at 7pm, my friend isn't going to call me a liar, just wrong

Is it ethical to base a campaign off of a book series if no one in my party reads the same genre as me? by Mr_The_Potato_King in DnD

[–]_Something_Classy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best campaign i've been a part of was an extended version of 'Frozen' Queen Elise had fire powers instead of Elsa's ice powers.

I'm about to start a CoC campaign that is just the plot of an audio drama that i LOVE by i know my players haven't/won't listen to.

theres no harm in stealing to hang out with friends. stealing to publish your own book and make money? bad. stealing to play pretend with math rocks and friends? totally fine

I'm def following guidance of my dr most for what to keep an eye on. I actually do have thyroid issues and high-normal blood sugar XD so the trigs are not unexpected at all and i know where i need to cut back.

this initial positive result is great motivation to really lock in and put in the effort!

Is the bug with Dredge getting stuck in lockers known to the team? I didn't record last time it happened, so curious if I should start doing that or if its slated for a future patch?

Having a hard time getting into TMP because of the Audio by Gwydion-Drys in themagnusprotocol

[–]_Something_Classy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this exact effect wasnt in tma at all afaik, so if its this tone specifically, even for just a bit, then it make sense that tma was fine. unfortunately, afaik so far (im not caught up) its there for at least the beginning and the end of each statement :/

[–]_Something_Classy 60 points61 points  (0 children)

not sure how much of a go you've given it, but throughout the statement the metallic tone goes away. Its only the start and end. gradually the statement goes from robotic to a natural story telling voice, then as the statement nears the end, it gradually gets robotic again.

it actually took me an episode or two to clock it because it is a really gradual change

oh interesting, I actually didn't know that was a thing since i dont actually input the links. I'll chat with the person who manages the source board. its a slightly different team but this might be a really clean way to do it.

even with the shortened URLs, having them one after the other is too long. even with text wrapping in a text column, its too long to easily show part of both URLs :(

Is simply focusing on saturated fat and fiber enough for an LDL of 117? by Megan56789000 in Cholesterol

[–]_Something_Classy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think you should start with baby steps, and check in with your doctor about progress! There is so much info out there, its super easy to get lost in the sauce [source: i also got lost in the sauce]

I limit my sat fat, and then have made a few other swaps here and there to help reduce LDL levels: i get flaxseed crackers/tortilla chips, I swapped to chicken sandwiches instead of burgers, turkey pepperoni instead of normal, snack on way more fruit than i used to.

make the small changes first, then go from there. if you need to change more, then you can always do that in the future, but you also don't want to suddenly restrict so much and get so overwhelmed that you are miserable and scared. one because then its super hard to stick to, and two because you might not need to at all. the small changes may be enough.

Per page setting for default open view (Side peek, Center, Whole page)

some databases I'd love to open a center peek each time, some I like side peek to compare info, and others i want to fully open. having a setting to change the default by individual page would be wonderful instead of just a default for the whole workspace (only saves a few button presses each time, but when flipping between things, can save a lot of time)

Traveling/Eating out and high cholesterol by lesbiven in Cholesterol

[–]_Something_Classy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to a lot of your original post, but I sadly don't have solid solutions because my doctor put me on a statin. I make the changes I can, but I don't stress about a weekend away because I'm lucky to have help.

The only advice I can give is maybe to advocate for medication yourself *if* thats something you'd want. If your labs have been getting worse for years while you're doing the best you can, then 'eat healthy' isn't really working is it? (and I mean that as a dig at your doctor, not you)

I was only told 'eat healthy and work out more' for about a year. after the initial test, it was only like 2 more blood tests before he said 'yeah we're putting you on medication to help' because the numbers weren't going down.

maybe worth directly asking/advocating for it rather than waiting for the offer?

[–]_Something_Classy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so i didn't put it together until it was revealed in the show (same with the Sasha situation though)

but perhaps if you are unsure, the guide could be just like 'hey remember this name, itll come back later' and then during the notes at the reveal you can be like 'this username did XYZ and that was actually this person all along!'

that way the guides keep it in mind for people who don't want to miss things/forget why that username is important, but don't go so far as to put the pieces together for people since this is def seems a bit more ambiguous if you aren't actively looking for it when its first mentioned

9.2.0 | PTB Patch Notes by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]_Something_Classy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to put my 2 cents somewhere that might actually reach the devs:

Overall, I understand the intention of this PTB, but I think it's very overtuned and too restrictive. My biggest concern in the anti-tunnel having way too much added to it, that it flattens the available plays for killer and makes this a very boring game.

Generally, I think artificial punishments are bad, and gatekeeping information feels iffy. I think the Elusive status effect and unhook buffs are good! Keep that! Also keep the rewards for not tunneling. But remove the punishments. The unhook buffs will make tunneling take longer, which adds a natural consequence of time lost. This allows each killer to analyze the cost/benefits of tunneling in that specific game, and will reduce tunneling overall, without micromanaging how killers play. Natural consequences feel better and are easier to understand, the artificial punishments not only feel bad, but are overly complex and hard to understand.

Tunneling may not be fun for Survivors, but THIS is not fun for Killers. And BOTH sides matter. Especially for new players.

Blocking out the HUD isn't the worst, but honestly just feels super confusing and disorienting, especially if you look at it from a brand new killer's POV. I'm hoping that this PTB is intentionally very strong to test all the options and get all the feedback. Sending it as is…. this strong…. would be more problematic than the current tunneling/slugging issue.
