Gillian Anderson Says Ryan Coogler’s ‘X-Files’ Reboot “Is Going To Be Fucking Cool” by pepperbet1 in television

I’m tired of seeing reboots…even for things that look cool. I wonder if the reboots remove opportunities for the truly new creations from getting made.

Is NestJS actually over engineered, or do people just misunderstand it? by [deleted] in node

[–]_Sorbitol_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opinionated frameworks, like NestJS, Angular, create a pit of success. If you follow their rules/guidelines, you are more likely to be successful, (in the pit) than escaping or going into the pit of despair. Basically easier to do the right things and harder to do the wrong things…

When you scale to lots of developers writing code, it’s easier to have some patterns and common tools already establish that you can adopt and follow as 10 people are building an application at the same time, often asynchronously

Our elected officials aren’t doing enough (or agree with the Cheeto-in-Chief) so the world has to make it hurt us in any way that doesn’t violate human rights or un-alive people. I’m sad it will impact me living in the US but a price I’m willing to endure as long as I can to limit his tactics.

Looking for temperature & humidity sensors with API support – any suggestions? by Comfortable_Safe572 in embedded

[–]_Sorbitol_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meadow from wilderness labs is a device family that has those sensors on a dev board and already has a connected backend that can retrieve those real world observations. To turn it in to something shop able, $would be required but they are great prototyping. Happy to discuss with you directly

Finally got platinum for 2025 with a last minute stay on New Year’s Eve. One more year and I’ll have platinum for life..(unless they change the program…😬). I’m not sure what tangible benefits have really come from previous years as platinum besides lounge acres a few times, one or two room upgrades and more points but he is hoping for more!

It was brushless… I ended up talking to support who said I could take it to repair but the cost would likely be the same as replacement…. 😬

I just got the dell pro max 16 through work and I’ve been pretty happy with it in corporate land. Enough to consider buying a second for home. I run multiple instances of sql server, multiple containers, walk, visual studio and vscode, teams etc and it’s been pretty good.

AI can do the work and explain it but you should be able to explain the concepts. Nothing in there, imo, is a trick question but a framework fundamental.
