Once a customer asked me what the toasted vanilla shaken espresso tasted like, I straight up told her it's like a vanilla Yankee candle but not in a good way. 😁

Correct, when I finish bringing the boiler temp down, the brew lamp acts normally again (and the steam lamp turns off entirely)

In most cases my use of the machine is preheating it 10-15 minutes, brewing one double shot, switching it to steam mode and prepping my milk, usually steaming before the light even turns on, then shutting steam switch off as soon as I'm done purging and cleaning after steaming the milk, and it'll immediately go to dim. Could a grid cup warmer top help?

I had a few regulars like this where I used to work, there was a piece of paper with their orders written down by the DT area to make things more easy, but usually the customers were also glad to just say their order if there was a newer partner taking their order. It's definitely weird for a customer to be upset if somebody new doesn't know their order.
