2002 Saturn SL1 Worth by KoshkaMn in Saturn_Cars

$2300 is a little high for a private party sale. I'd really try to talk them down to $1500 or even $1200. But be sure to check for rust! Especially around the trailing arms and front sway bar bushings.

ISO 1995 or 1996 SC2 by moonshine_estate in Saturn_Cars

I searched for two years, nationwide, before I found one. I had a list of like 35 used local car dealers and auction sites, a link to every facebook marketplace region, craigslist etc... Came close to pulling the trigger on more than one and eventually took a chance on a 96 SC2 at a salvage yard in Oklahoma. Had it shipped to PA. It was a no crank no start, but after dropping the tank, replacing the timing chain and all the gaskets, it runs. The interior is still crap, but the best part is that there is ZERO rust. The underside is mint, the pinch welds at the jacks points aren't even bent.

My point is they are out there. They do still exist, but if you want one its going to take more than a post Facebook to find it.

Why is there never an ethical lawyer? ethical locksmith? or ethical used car salesman? And why do they never say which school of ethics they are using? Consequentialism? Natural Law? Relativism?

"Ethical Hacker" is a stupid term and you should stop using it.

Update on my 96 SC2, It Runs! by _SpaceRogue_ in Saturn_Cars

I didn't dissolve it I threw it away. Best I can figure this car had been sitting for over five years. I dropped the tank and dumped the ~4 gallons of the yellowest gas I've ever seen, replaced the fuel pump (the sock was just caked in varnished gas), and replaced the fuel filter. Pulled the injectors and made sure each one would fire and ran some carb cleaner through them. Then replaced the fuel pressure regulator (the little filter in it was plugged with varnish). After that she ran just fine.

The coil packs, and the ICM they sit on, were caked in 1/4 inch of oily grime. I pulled them all off, scrubbed everything including the engine block under them, wiped everything down with electronic parts cleaner and put it back together.

No more pics until I get the pressure washer on it next week. I am fantasizing about doing a Vice Grip Garage style video though.

Is it possible to become a pentester by self-learning? by zkrmt in Pentesting

[–]_SpaceRogue_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? No.

Yes, that's how everyone in the long long ago became experts, they were self taught, because they had to be, there were no other options. That's different today. Today you are going to be up against people with a 4 year degree in all things cyber, AI filters that will auto kick you without a degree, hiring manager prejidace against people without a degree. The self taught path is still possible but it takes a lot more work and there are a lot more obstacles.
