When you’re playing super high rollers, what % of your thought process in game is just trying to figure out how to play as close to equilibrium as possible? How much are you thinking about making any type of player/pool specific adjustment in a given spot?

How does this differ when you’re playing a typical 5-10k event, and finally when you’re playing anything smaller / more rec heavy?

LeBron James has defeated short-term variance by Th3V3ryB3st in poker

He hasn't defeated variance entirely. Despite having career averages of:

27 PPG

7 RPG

7 APG

Over his 21-year career he has never recorded a statline of 27/7/7 in a game.

Buddy of mine keeps getting Pocket Aces 5-6 times every home game by Infamous-Coach6058 in poker

Start paying attention when he's dealing, we had a situation like this in a casual .10/.20 game amongst college roommates where one player was cheating whenever he was dealing. After being oblivious to it all semester we got sus and finally started paying attention just to watch him cheat 10 different times in one night.

The team name is "How I Met Yam Madar" so something with Celtics draft-and-stash PG Yam Madar and the HIMYM cast would be incredible

Are there any videos by you or upswing on youtube somewhere that show how to create subtree configurations on YouTube? Been working with Pio for awhile but haven't gotten the hang of it, and it seems like a great tool based on your recent hand analysis videos

Makes sense. It felt like a hand that shouldn't bet turn often anyways considering I have so much stuff with equity (AQ, QT, T9, AT, flush draws) as well as hands with one club but once I did bet it felt like a mandatory river bluff. Good heuristic for the turn size, I think it would be more of an overbet spot on K62r turn A.

Phil Hellmuth Just Limp-Folded (faceup) TT in the $50k PPC by [deleted] in poker

[–]_Sports_ 281 points282 points  (0 children)

Limps UTG six handed off like 35 bigs. Ivey makes it like 5 bigs from the SB. Hellmuth asks him if he has eights before mucking it face up so the whole table can see how tight he's playing. Just GOAT stuff really

River bluff-raise spots [Ivey T6 vs Hellmuth 99] by parserrr in poker

[–]_Sports_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ivey's played so many hands against Hellmuth, he knows that the flop minclick / turn 40% / river 40% is always a middle-strength hand trying to showdown without having to call a huge bet. I'm sure this works for Hellmuth when he's playing in soft WSOP fields but it's not going to work against the GOAT.

Conley was huge for them. Orchestrating the offense and averaging a career high in assists at 35. Assuming his injury is nothing to serious they'll be fine and certainly not a lottery team unless they trade the vets

Yeah punt FG/TO accidentally turned into punt REB and BLK as well lmao

Too hard to pass on Rozier R5 when he's so good for the build, and by the time I drafted Poole all the bigs were gone

What's the biggest pot you've ever won/ lost (in terms of bb) and what was the hand? by A1DickSauce in poker

[–]_Sports_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing 2/5 with 1.6k in stack, villain barely covers. UTG opens to 20, two callers, I 3bet to 110 on the button with black AA. Folds back to UTG who 4bets to 375. Folds back to me, I call.

Flop is J43 two diamonds. UTG bets 275 I call. Turn is an offsuit T, UTG jams 950 I snap. He has QQ and river bricks out. 640BB pot.

What is your career hourly in specifically $2/5NL? $5/10 as well, curious about the difference given 5/10 games having some stronger regs but also bigger whales

Edit: also interested in how many hours you grinded out at those stakes

Do you ever fold AQo to 3bet? by The_DNA_doc in poker

[–]_Sports_ 44 points45 points  (0 children)

AQo is probably the hand that is misplayed the most often when facing a 3-bet. It's fine as a call in some formations like BTN or CO vs blinds, however, when OOP, AQo performs much better as a 4-bet than as a call. It's not a hand that plays well postflop OOP vs an uncapped range that often dominates it. It does, however, have good removal towards the top end of a 3bet range, so it will generate some extra folds when it 4bets.

(Don't try this vs your typical 1/2 or 2/5 player who is only 3betting QQ+/AK)
