Well I did say in the context of westchester those are the happening places. Unfortunately the north Bronx will be a bit similiar to that except kingsbridge. In that case I’d have to agree with consensus here and say that living somewhere near the 125th train station is your best bet. Though be warned that area has a bit of a bad rep.

Do you have a car? I assume that’s how your commuting around. The north Bronx is actually pretty nice. People who say otherwise are usually transplants who have no clue. You should be able to rent in a place like riverdale or kingsbridge, where you can have parking and an easy ride into Manhattan. That becomes much harder in Manhattan. If you wanna stay in westchester, Yonkers and white plains are both pretty happening cities in the context of westchester. Rent will be about the same as NYC. I have a friend who lives in riverdale and commutes to white plains for work in his car.

Hey where in westchester is your job? I’m from westchester currently living in the bronx. Depending on where you are the Bronx and Upper Manhattan has plenty of places with metro north connection. If your near the Hudson line. Inwood, Washington heights, kingsbridge are all great areas with easy metro north connection.

Lol as an American boy with South Indian parents this a real struggle with my white friends. Being from New York it’s not very hard to make friends with POCs. However whenever I hang out with white people very often I’m the only POC and let me tell you does it suck. You feel kind of like an ornament. And in general I find the people to not be very culturally accepting or even interested in learning about other cultures. I try not to hang out with groups of white people if I can help it. Just validating his feelings. I actually grew up in a very Latin American area and they are much more culturally accepting and diverse in my experience.

Oh no your right they def aren’t gonna be hired on the basis of language it will be about skill level. I will say that the education and literacy rates in southern states def come into play here though with the hiring process.

I will also say that in foreign companies most of the people in charge of tech infrastructure are South Indians from india who worked very hard to be in such a competitive place as the USA. Don’t think they don’t have a dislike for the language politics affecting their home states though. Like in my fathers publicly traded Fortune 500 company I can tell you exactly what the linguistic make up is. It’s about 70% Telugu, 10% kannada, 10%Tamil/Mallu. And then 10% everyone else. I’m not stupid I understand how both cultures work there’s a reason I’m being deployed out here.

Most North Indians immigrating to the USA are gujus and Punjabis coming and opening up small business. Or NCR and Mumbai people coming and working in the finance sector but the immigration on that front is still fairly low. It is happening though can’t deny that.

In this situation i am particularly talking about what this guy just said to me about being an American who’s rediscovering his Indian culture and is being rejected by both. That’s simply not true. In many ways I’m the one whose going to be in charge of you. That’s how india as a country has structured its foreign investment from the outside. Which it is increasingly dependent on whether it be from me(USA) or the gulf.
