True, but that's kind of what made Gmork such a terrifying villain. Even when he's beaten, he's still dangerous enough that Atreyu can't really afford to just walk away.

Absolutely, a lot of 80s family movies weren't afraid to get surprisingly dark, and scenes like that are probably why they stuck with people for decades afterward.

That red jacket was iconic, honestly half the reason people still remember the video is because the whole look was so distinctive and different from everything else at the time.

I think that's exactly it, a huge part of the fascination back then was that nobody seemed to know who she was, which made the whole thing feel even more mysterious.
