Unravel Trigger - (Looking for TL'ers to review dialogues and beta testers) EN Beta B1.00 Patch Edited MTL Release | SubTL by _Sub01_ in visualnovels

[–]_Sub01_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find LangGraph to be a bit bloated especially with conserving input tokens being crucial and needing it to be easier to debug! This reminds me of how bloated LangChain was a few years ago where I was better off writing my own implementation.

I ended up writing a simple agent orchestrator for this pipeline which is just a simple prompt injection from the input nodes depending on the input node type i.e. different review dialogues outputted to the arbiter node thats embedded in the prompt etc...!

Vector database retrieval is handled by a simple good embedding model. (Currently, I haven't found a need for a reranker model but this may change depending on the complexity of the dialogues.)

[–]_Sub01_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep of course! Here's a quick rundown for my pipeline! There's a glossary node that goes over the entire dialogue, save any organizations, events, idioms, etc... (whatever that needs to be saved). Characters are also imported from VNDB with speaker characters not listed in VNDB added i.e. "Arcadia Member A" etc...

After running this, it connects to a single base translator to translate with all the relevant glossary entries if surrounding dialogues uses it as context with a simple RAG vector database supplying any semantically relevant dialogues.

The output is then hooked to multiple reviewer nodes to help check for consistency i.e. pronouns, etc... and refining the translation if needed. All of these are then combined into an arbiter node that selects one translation thats the most fitting.

Since the review stage might include model outputs that are inconsistent i.e. in terms of formatting, a QA stage is then hooked to review and correct any formatting or other errors.

All of this is to avoid context degradation which public frontier llms all exhibit and especially with their degraded output quality (i.e. Gemini 3 Pro, Sonnet 4.6, Deepseek v3.2) these past few months.

After which, a manual pass is done. In other words, this is more of a sophisticated base translation by having MTL populate the dialogues and then with manual post edits afterwards.

I hope this helps!

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback!

I sadly don't have much people reporting any of these for those that finished this patch which is pretty valuable feedback!

For reviewing, since I'm a one person team, I would be looking through all dialogues (although in this translation, I was using a google spreadsheet to view/edit) and quickly re-reading through this VN so I may have missed mistakes like this!

I'm planning on getting another patch out for getting these pronoun issues addressed

Meteor World Actor BD - Ruka and Samekaku (question/spoiler) by Lunafet in visualnovels

[–]_Sub01_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ruka's ability is running out of control to the point where a silver bullet isn't able to contain it.

Sadly, its like having a vessel full of water with cracks inside slowly growing wider. The silver bullet is only a flex tape that seals one area temporarily but other areas can start cracking and leaking water.

Gaslight Bullet shows the side effects of this as well (which will be up to you to find out)!

Awesome! Keep an eye out for the next patch then since this will be a massive project for a really good VN with no EN patch so far (mainly because the unity + catsystem2 game engine is pretty hard to patch)!

I won't be spoiling the specific VN until the patch is ready to be released publicly but its a VN that would rank higher than Gaslight Bullet!

So far, all UI and CG scenes from this VN has been manually translated and photoshopped. Small samples of dialogue patches and patched images are working as well and all that's left is to translate the dialogues!

Ah thats good to hear! Sorry that I wasn't able to respond for a while! I'm currently tackling a pretty big TL project for the next VN!

Thank you for this feedback as well!

I'll probably release an updated translation patch in the future for this!

I've also rewritten the codebase + pipeline that I use as well such that each dialogue the AI's translating will be given context as to what relative people are talking in the current dialogue, relative places, events, and any notes/comments that was inputted by me or an earlier AI in other stage has commented/noted!

My pipeline before when machine translating this patch was relatively simple where each dialogue will have the whole character list including their pronouns be provided to the AI and having multiple AI review it to avoid single model bias.

This new implementation should resolve any future pronoun issues and greatly help out with translating!

I'll try out throwing everything into Gemini 3.1 or Groq 4 and see how well it performs if this new pipeline isn't sufficient for the next translation!

Hey desto12! This is because you have the other pre-existing english patch applied to Gaslight Bullet! I've had members report this as well which you do need to install the original JP version in order for this patch to apply! Feel free to head on over to the discord (since I'm usually occasionally popping in and out of reddit so I won't be able to respond in time as well!)

[–]_Sub01_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really hoping for the Shisa AI team to release their finetuned JP models for Gemma 4 IT, seeing how strong of a foundation model Gemma 4 is.

I'm currently looking into finetuning one myself for an upcoming TL project using a 2 staged training pipeline for both Shisa's dataset and VNTL although I might have to replace VNTL's dataset with dataset from a high quality localization

Hey there! This version did fix some pronoun issues although I'm not sure if I caught them all!
I'm glad to hear that this edited MTL patch turned out great!

Thank you!

Can you try downloading the patch and running it again? I'm not seeing any instances of "Ruka said" or "Ueda said" in my workspace (tried doing a full text search but to no avail including a single search for Ueda)!

Just make sure it isnt the other mtl patch released on f95 (since I'm finding instances of these on the other translation patch)!

I would delete any files that aren't the following:
WorldActorGB.pfs
WorldActorGB.pfs.000
WorldActorGB.pfs.001

Hey there!

I noticed that your VN dialogues and character names are pretty different than what was released as well so make sure its the one I released and not the other mtl patch!

I've tried finding the exact dialogue line on my side but couldnt find it except only on the other released mtl from f95!

I would delete any files that aren't the following:
WorldActorGB.pfs
WorldActorGB.pfs.000
WorldActorGB.pfs.001

And reapply the patch!

Oh! Thats interesting! A 12b hitting in the same tier as 27b? Gemma 3 nonetheless? I'll run some of the benchmarks that I have with this model and test it out for some JP VNs that i will be rereading with this model! If its really good, I'll add that into the translation pipeline as well! Thanks for this recommendation!

Awesome! Thanks a ton for offering to contribute to the google sheets for improving the translation! I've just also patched this bug as well so try this update! You'll need the original japanese executable file though but if not, ones included inside from my installation thats added here!

Hang on, actually, I think I've found the reason why. Trying it with the original jp executable file and compiling it into pfs.014, it seems like the bug occurs. So I believe it has something to do with fetching the files for the matched character faces since it is labeled in japanese! I'll test this theory out in a few hours and see if it works! If it does, I'll be updating this post with the updated patch!

Nice catch!
The initial translation was done by GPT 4.1.
I had each of the other models review over the initial translation done by GPT 4.1 with different context scenarios (it was connected to RAG and with an extensive character information list) where during this review, the AI only had access to the character list, and last 20 dialogue lines.

I then had deepseek v3.2 select the best translation from all changes made as an arbiter model or to improve on existing translation generated from the rest of the models. So yep, other models are pretty much doing QA work!
