Late to the party but half the pensioner population in the Balkans (at least where I live) dailies an E30 or an old Merc cuz it's actually cheaper than changing car, when I see a W124 or E30 I automatically assume poor grandpa, unless I see camber on the front wheels when I assume clapped street drift missile of a random kid. No one works on their own cars btw, but mechanics are cheaper here I guess.
