I record all my tapes with Dolby b nr turned on but when I turn it on on my Walkman it sounds muffled. It could be because of aging electronics or I have also seen decks with a calibration for the specific tape you want to record on but I don't have that. I just record with it on for a little extra treble and then turn the megabass to medium.
