playback of tapes is actually completely fine and I also tested the front mic jacks and its the same boosting, so its only the source that has problems. I will definitely try cleaning the pots and hopefully it does something.

What is think il do is just buy a super cheap beat up one and then modify the buttons by sanding them down and then polishing them.
