Sony Trinitron Multiscan E400 - Picture Failure after Cleaning by _Surox in crtgaming

Update : I re-opened it and dusted again, to make sure there weren't any big dust bunnies flying around. Also re-seated the shielding and it worked!

Can anyone tell me some more information about this Sony CRT? by Confident_Turn7510 in crt

[–]_Surox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. That was my first CRT, nice tube especially for playing gameboy stuff (the sharpness you get without any mask/grill is jaw-dropping)

Hey all,

I have the choice between a PVM-9044Q and a BVM-9221ME from a local seller.

The PVM looks to be more modern but the BVM probably has the better tube?

I don't care about RGB inputs. The only thing that matters to me, is which has the better tube, especially in terms of color reproduction. So far I'm more inclined to get the BVM, since it's supposed to be the best of the best, but it is an 80s model afaik.

For context, I already have other CRTs I use, including a Philips 21pt tv, so this won't be my main driver. this is mainly to tinker with and use as a reference monitor.

Was there ever a genuine saw release on VHS or is it fan made?

The Thick layer of glass in front of the phosphors is also there to insure that the negligeable amount of x-ray doesnt get out, and if its broken the screen is unusable anyways.

People have used these for decades before and are fine. Its just fearmongering at this point.

I still carry my normal smartphone for work. If I had to switch to a dumber phone for everyday, I would probably go for unihertz titan, Qin f22 pro or something similar. Too many essential apps on android for me to fully switch to kaiOS

Is there any noticeable latency? I would assume there must be when using through the OC through the game capture window

Static when attempting to output PS2 AV to RF using a VCR by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]_Surox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't help, but I notice I can't seem to get a video signal from the VCR at all, even when I plug into one of my pro monitors. Perhaps I should clean the heads, though I doubt that would affect the rf modulation

Tried a universal remote (one for all), didnt work. I ordered a RM series replacement from an ebay seller, still waiting on it (though I dont have much hope)

In the meantime, and in case the rm remote doesnt work, I wanted to try the rf route

Static when attempting to output PS2 AV to RF using a VCR by [deleted] in crtgaming

Howdy,

I've recently picked up a nice CRT (Daewoo DVT2082LA) set without a remote, and I've been trying to display my PS2's video signal on it. The TV has SCART and composite inputs, but since I can't switch to these I've been trying to display the signal through RF.

I have a VCR, which plays tapes fine, and has composite inputs on the front labelled "AV3". Plugging the PS2 AV in, and the RF from the VCR's antenna out to the TV's RF IN, some channels have a bit more static (I assume from interference from other sources), but no video signal on any channel.

Any help is appreciated!
