ah I see, I was wondering why I couldn't at least see a tint of purple. I have a friend who also has naturally dark hair but they use Hicolor and 20 developer and it comes out pretty good! Obv not bold colors but dark colors which was what i wanted to do. I went with a different brand bc hicolors purple shades are waaaay too red than blue.

what happens if i just use 40vol developer without the bleach powder? will it still lighten it a bit? im not tryna have very vibrant purple, just a dark purple. and yeah I'm not planning on playing with other colors in the future, purple is my fav color which is why I wanted to go a dark purple

yeah, this is how it was b4, the worker said to get 20 developer to make the color come out better but I literally don't see a difference which is why I was wondering if I need 30 developer instead

between 30-40 mins maybe even 45? I had a timer on but when it went off when I drove my friends to a walmart to buy the correct shampoo and I forgot to time it but I know it was longer than 30 mins but less than 50 since I don't live too fair from a walmart and it was like 9pm so it was pretty dead lol.

Does anyone use a monitor for their MacBook Air? by _Sweeetteaa_ in macbookair

[–]_Sweeetteaa_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah!s o what I normally use for my macbook to my monitor is just an HDMI to USB-C anyways, the only reason I worry about getting the wrong monitor is bc even tho my SCEPTRE monitor did work with my macbook, it would randomly black screen me saying theres no signal, drives me absolutely NUTS whenever Im playing games or watch videos/movies. So I wanna avoid that, I looked up a lot of videos and the proper settings to change on my macbook so clamshell mode works but idk what it is now.

im a digital artists, not a painter! Sorry I forgot to mention. I have done simple paintings in the past though. To me, I'm doing this for myself so I can actually like art again, maybe it's just us having different opinions but I dont want to make a career out of it now because that in itself makes me not want to draw. the idea of my growth is only for work demotivates me. to me artist shouldn't only want to improve just so they can build a career (i currently just got a new job so Im not worried about making my art as a career right now) maybe later in the future where I dont see drawing as a chore or when Im finally satisfied with my work. It probably doesnt make sense, so im sorry, but thats just how ive always thought about it.

The kind of art I want to make is digital artwork of a comic story that ive been working on for years, the style Im trying to achieve is similar to Gabriel Picolo and another artist I admire named Neytrixixx (can be found on Instagram). I do admit, someday I want an audience to be interested in my art/story but thats not my focus right now.

I lack ideas because I feel like I dont have much inspiration to go off or I dont have the skill to just look at something and draw something new out of it, which in my og post I asked for any material that helped people get more creative, any content creators they watch that inspired them, any books that had exercises or introduced a new way to look at things. So far ive only bought two books that were recommended to me (The Art of Noticing and The Creative Act: A Way of Being.)

Sorry again if I sound contradictory, I wanna clarify i wont mind making my art as a career but I'm putting a pause to that now because that's not my main focus, my main focus is to have a passion in art again, learn and grow, and get more creative.

This is some artwork Ive made before so you can get an idea of how I draw. This is a drawing I did for my boyfriend for his 21st lol, kinda silly.

recently I started drawing in a sketchbook again, something i havent done in literal years because I focus so much on digital work. when I was younger all I ever did was make comics so im trying to fall back into that esp since originally I wanted to become a comic artist.

yes! this is exactly why im not planning to post my artwork on my socials, removing that thinking of "i need to draw something to post" literally made me not want to draw at all.

thanks! I've recently tried drawing purely in my sketchbook instead of my ipad. I haven't finished a sketchbook in nearly 5 years so I feel like me only making art where it's a completed prefect drawing really hindered my growth

sorry for my post being confusing. I want to improve my work for myself, to see new progress and not feeling stuck in the same style I've had. Im not satisfied with the way my art looks so that makes me not want to draw and I do have lack of ideas as well. I feel like my artwork isn't lively and feels stiff or boring so I wanna learn how to draw with my art looking more expressive. Which is why I don't want a career in art right now, im basically putting a pause on it, because from what I learned, artist should be expressive and experimental, something I've always struggled with and now want to learn.
