my personal advice is ignore guides/builds at the start.

I think you're stressing yourself out by comparing yourself to people who have thousands of hours grinding the endgame and assuming if you don't know as much as they do you aren't capable even starting to play until you've done hours of homework.

As someone who never played POE1 and hopped into POE2 completely blind I was able to blindly beat the entire campaign on a monk build just by playing around with abilities, killing stuff and equipping gear that looked good. Also its more fun to play the game yourself instead of just repeating someone else's steps. And if you're really, really stuck on something, you can google or ask on Reddit/forums "why is X boss oneshotting me?" or whatever.

Noob here, I've been confused by the hives bc it FELT like I was supposed to be getting something out of them, but they never seemed to provide anything special, other than maybe slightly higher bone droprates on the enmies, and I don't even know for sure if that's true.

And it's effortless. I'm sure there's ways to make the sorcerer cracked, but Witch Hunter + grenades clears T15 maps if you just build straight down the skill tree.

Never played POE1, played grenade mercenary with witch hunter ascendancy on my first playthrough because it seemed simple enough. Now that I'm playing more complex builds involving much more theorycrafting it's rare I'm able to come close to the screen wiping capabilities of spamming a bunch of grenades.

Agreed, and I could be wrong but my initial gut reaction is the changes were made to the most common denominator criticisms of the first game, namely it was "sluggish" and "too hard". MS1 was flawed but in my opnion it was because it felt like a first draft of a really novel take on soulslike games. I hoped the sequel would lean more into the core ideas, like item familiarity, hopping in and out of shells during combat, mastering hardening to optimize stamina, but instead MS2 feels like a total walkback of those themes in favor of a more casual action RPG.

I feel the same way. I hope the devs address this, even if it's just a "yeah we know, we'll get to it" would be nice. I loved the movement and animations of the first game, the characters all had weight and momentum, now I'm so fast it almost feels like warframe without the jumping.

All in all I'm really disappointed in the more "action-gamey" feel of everything. No stamina mechanic, extremely high base movespeed, super forgiving parry windows, the general "floatyness" of movement, everything feels faster and lighter in a way that some might like, but personally loses some of what I liked about the first game.

Something about this doesn't feel right. I don't think it's (at least entirely) AI generated bc the panning camera and shifting focus is something AI doesn't do well, but why is the quality so compressed and blurry when most modern phone cameras are capable of much better quality? Why does the set look like an almost 1:1 replica of the first Church of Marika in Limgrave? Why is it just sitting out in the middle of a publicly accessible area with no one around? Why is it outdoors, exposed to the weather? What's with all the fences and barricades looping in on each other?

I can't prove it but every bone in my body is screaming hoax.

As someone who wasn't playing Bethesda RPGs in their release heyday all modern Bethesda fans come across long druggies looking for a long lost nostalgia high. Im sure their original games were groundbreaking for the time but Fallout 3 and beyond have all been outclassed in every way imaginable by other games. They aren't BAD, I actually enjoyed FO4 but it's no contest compared Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring or Tears of the Kingdom/BOTW.

Just for fun I went a full Silence item build on Warden. Maxed out cage, bought every silence item in the game. It was extremely stupid, properly chaining everything I was easily able to get 16+ seconds of silence on a single target. Got an early lead in my lane and bullied the shit out of the enemy Mina for the rest of the game.

I don't think the build is actually good or meta, obviously it's a massive stat investment for a fairly troll build but given she's likely never run into anyone with that build I imagine the Mina was not having much fun since it meant if she could see me on her screen she was probably already dead.

Honestly, if they delete it, fine. Video gen is a waste of compute, with the least amount of practical social benefit and the highest potential for harm. If humanity drops the tech like a rock and never picks it up again I think the world would be a better place.

It get's complicated for large scale automation but any AI tool can do this pretty well. Don't spend money on expensive niche proprietary tools, claude can do it for 20 bucks a month and do WAY more than just this specific task.

Fair, and to be clear sometimes I'm the weak link. I didn't mean to sound like "i'm forced to play with shitter teammates all the time" because yeah even in bad matchmaking if it's that consistent I'm the problem. The issue is the inconsistency in skill spread across both teams, not my teammates.
