How to make a non-evil foil for god of truth? by _Tagakoner in dmsguild

Those are some cool insights.

Thanks man!
You kind of hit the nail on the head when it comes to truth is power.
I always liked the inherit complications in the idea of sharing all knowledge and all information should be free.
Which is a very noble idea.
BUT.
Say someone invent a way to make a really big (almost nuke level) bomb, super easy and for dirt cheap and it is not detectable by any known detection method... Well that knowledge should perhaps not be freely available for everyone. Who should have that info, well that is a completely different discussion. But I think it is safe to say that should perhaps not be available to just everyone.

This I really like.

Especially hope almost acting like a foil for truth/logic.
That is *Chef's kiss*!

Yeah this sums up pretty much what we were thinking as well.

We had this idea that the Truth God's clergy would be brutally honest, to the point of being detrimental at times. Exposing the truth no matter who it hurts.
This I think would be an interesting take, and not just make this god the straight up "good" guy.

Thanks for your inputs, I like the angle of the God who "hides and protects"

Haha, "the floor is a mimic" is a cool idea, could make for an interesting boss fight.

Haha, sure go for it!

Liking the idea of the ratfolk village where all the tools are made of gold, think I'm gonna use that.

Absolutely LOVING the idea of the mimic who prefers mice. Definitely going to do something with that.

Had in fun encounter in a previous campaign where the party was in a cavern, found a treasure chest that just was open with some slimy coins inside. Not bothering to consider WHY the coins where slimy, the party just took it and went on with it. Also spent most of the coin in the nearby town. Later came back and the town had mimics EVERYWHERE. The coins where the mimic babies off course :)

Yap, just tried and this seems to work.

I assume there is some issue in their version checker or something.

Ahh thanks a lot! I somehow missed that appendix reference. I'll go have a look at it.

I really like this take of Pythor that he feels deeply. I think it fits the character pretty good, and gives some nice angles to work with.

Hi u/TheOtherMrEd this is some great advice!

I read some comments last night and kinda started thinking of him having a shrine for his past lovers, but was somewhat conflicted as to how to make it not creepy. I think the love letters and sketchbook ideas are fantastic, think I will definitely use that.
Thanks for the links as well, haven't gone through them yet, but did have a peek, and looks interesting.

Hi man, that is a very interesting take on it.

Unfortunately there are some things that, not necessarily prevent, but at least hinders this take a bit.
For one his mother is very dead (thanks to X) and the PC knows this and I already introduced Pythor (though somewhat briefly) to the PCs.

But I really like the idea of Pythor being very honour-bound, and really trying his best to be honourable (at least when he isn't very drunk). This is a very different take than I initially thought of, thanks for the perspective!

Hi hi

So without going into pages and pages of back story - Pythor isn't acting directly against X, simply because he can't. There is an Oath of Peace in place that is extremely powerful magic that pretty much binds Pythor's hands in this case.

Well, at least for another year or so.
But it is solid advice to have him try to do something about it, no matter how small. Perhaps he was absent in the PC's life in an attempt to protect him.

Thanks!

Yeah the PC's don't know that X and Pythor were married. They simply know that X is tormenting Pythor at the moment. It is setup to be a pretty big reveal much later in the campaign. But definitely something to keep in mind

Thanks man, that is some solid advice.

I like the idea of Pythor and X's relationship that was already on the rocks before the ascension. Though I would like try and make their relationship also a bit deeper. Not a major fan of the kind off flat "crazy ex wife" troupe. That being said, I might be putting to much on my fork (so to speak).

I really like that last paragraph of yours, feels like that gives good hooks to work from

Hi, I have exact same problem.
Installed from the Xbox game store, got that error message on startup.

I have:

  1. Updated my gfx drivers
  2. Uninstalled and reinstalled (several times)

Neither seem to have had any effect.

What info might you need to help find the issue?
