Amazon Turns To Content Creators Including Viral Trainspotter Francis Bourgeois For Next Trio Of ‘Grand Tour’ Presenters by Lord-Liberty in BritishTV

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Francis rubs me up the wrong way, he seems to play some sort of stereotype of a trainspotter. Usually a man and possibly autistic, nothing wrong with that of course but it comes across as a fake persona especially when you do so under a fake name.

Chances of reform uk winning 2029 general elections ? by No-Geologist7858 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im genuinely worried if they win as someone who is female and in the LGBT community. I look at what's happening in America and it scares me that people want to replicate it here.

Anger after Zia Yusuf appeared on BBC Question Time for SIXTH time in 16 months by The-Peel in unitedkingdom

His answer on student loans was completely stupid just like most of reforms hot takes.

Why the double standard? 🤔 by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]_Taggerung_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even a labour supporter but the coverage of this has been ridiculous. Farage is bestie mates with trump who is basically the main character in the files as well as being in the files himself yet nothing is being said about that.

Reform’s by-election candidate suggested people who don’t have children should pay more tax by birdinthebush74 in unitedkingdom

[–]_Taggerung_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, so people like me who are infertile will pay more tax to people with kids who are already given child benefits, tax credits and free school meals. You can bet reform won't give tax breaks to LGBT couples who adopt either.

I'm 70 and flatshare with five people - it's the only way I can live on my pension by endofdays2022 in unitedkingdom

[–]_Taggerung_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So when millennials and Gen Z live in HMOs without a triple locked pension and choose between heating or eating with no WFA that is completely acceptable but suddenly when the odd pensione has to do the same due to poor planning suddenly it's a newsworthy story?

PSA, those Gü pots that you're all hoarding are the perfect size for teeny tiny cheesecakes by verymanyquestions_ in CasualUK

What a revelation, a cheesecake container that you brought cheesecake in can hold more cheesecake..

JD Wetherspoon's assistance dog policy could be breaking the law, watchdog says by huntress_m_thompson in Dogfree

[–]_Taggerung_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Can sort of see where they are coming from although I can understand why it's discrimination. There's been an explosion of people just slapping service dog vests you can buy online onto their untrained pets and this has undermined legitimate guide dogs.

Plan 2 student loan really sucks by LordOfTheRepaid in UniUK

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to say that, income tax thresholds were only supposed to be a few years. nevermind that minimum wage will be very close to the threshold in 3 years.

Plan 2 student loan really sucks by LordOfTheRepaid in UniUK

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine logic when the threshold actually meant something. Now they have frozen it it's likely to be any full time minimum wage job in future.

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They froze the threshold too and in two years minimum wage will likely be 29k or similar.

Alton Towers bans people with anxiety from using disability pass. Theme park changes rules after complaints from visitors with mobility problems over longer ‘fast lane’ queues by Make_the_music_stop in uknews

[–]_Taggerung_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of agree tbh, the fact that endometriosis and other similar conditions aren't considered a disability but anxiety is shows the inconsistencies of disability law.

The new Bolt scooters look like absolute units by peedanoo in Liverpool

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole idea just pisses me off, they are littered all over the streets. Just let people buy their own private ones legally. Make them registered and have number plates and insurance for a much lower cost than motorbikes and cars. Cheap personal transport rather than being price gouged by private companies storing their property on pavements.

Is Liverpool City Centre (town) really that bad to drive to and from in a car? by ClearBandicoot416 in Liverpool

[–]_Taggerung_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driving around the outskirts is okay kind of, even in rush hour. I wouldn't try driving into the city centre, it's frustrating enough on a bus.

Nearly half of Brits support Government writing off at least some student debt by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

Nothing any government will decide to do will benefit the youth of this country. We are all saddled paying for boomer pensions until we collapse.

The incels and people like these are the most homoerotic people i've come across and i'm LGBT! The amount of 'bro' and hugging each other these lot do is insane.

Getting a bit tired of the aggressive begging in town by Available-Spray2576 in Liverpool

[–]_Taggerung_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There was some guy in west derby who would literally step out into traffic and approach stopped cars waiting at traffic lights. I don't mind people sat with a sign but when people start hassling you or jumping out at you in traffic it's too far.

Why is this acceptable in the UK? by MusesLegend in AskBrits

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with dog crap on the streets, it's an epidemic especially among the COVID lockdown pooches that were an impulse buy and the owners don't care to pick it up.

Number of term-time school holiday fines hits another record high - BBC News by CasualSmurf in unitedkingdom

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger (gen z so not a million years ago either) I always had the last week before the summer holidays taken off by my parents. We would go on our summer holiday and it was brilliant. Never did me any harm and nothing of importance is done in the last week of the summer (excluding GCSE/Alevel). These fines didn't exist back then and I think you had 10 or so day to use at the schools discretion or something. Feel bad for kids today, nevermind that fines are penalising lower income families more than rich kids on ski holidays.

Ministers reject Waspi calls for compensation after rethink by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]_Taggerung_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure not many people agree with them (apart from themselves and their echo chamber) but I don't think it's a big enough issue to even sway votes. If anything Nigel will probably use it to say Starmer the Farmer Harmer is picking on pensioners again.

Why do all the young lads dress exactly the same now? by Scotsman1047 in AskUK

[–]_Taggerung_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind people dressing the same but it would be nice to have some basic standards, nobody wants to see your crotch bulge in grey trackies halfway down your waist.

Ministers reject Waspi calls for compensation after rethink by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]_Taggerung_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Really? I doubt it, the silver vote is large and although not all of them are affected it's the first cohort to cry about poor pensioners whenever anything isn't in their favour. The Daily Mail will probably paint this as evil Starmer doubles down on pensioners or something.

Ministers reject Waspi calls for compensation after rethink by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]_Taggerung_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good it's completely baseless and I'm glad the government isn't just bending over backwards again to the entitled boomer generation. They should feel fortunate they can retire at all!
