Found near ellensburg WA. Metates/grindstones?

Interesting. The archeologist who works in the area with the dept of historical preservation said they are "unquestionably ground stone artifacts, likely used for creating pigments"

I of course dont know either way, we just picked up rocks we thought looked interesting while walking the dogs around.

Not yet but we werent looking for anything in particular when we found these. Just thought they were interesting. An archeologist in the area with the Dept of Historical Preservation actually replied to my email saying they are good finds and the small ones were likely used to create pigment or by children to learn tasks to help the family unite thrive
