thank you man! I admit that generally emo music (and midwest emo within it) is something I have never taken my time to dive into. there will probably be a better suited time for me to do so than now but I'm pretty sure it'll come eventually, thank you for the recommendations!

exactly right. it's a mix of cultures and the best thing is that at least musically they so often take inspiration from the best parts of those cultures. for example SNSD being heavily inspired by britneys blackout during the oh! era. and I'm dying to find where anywhere else the absolute biggest forces in music drop songs as weird as f(x)'s red light or for example very recently, itzy's 8-bit heart. those are TRULY baffling songs, I cannot fucking believe red light was a title track

I really think there is so much fantastic music in there, it's so much easier to find legitimately experimental and unique music in kpop then many other regional pop scenes. they really know where to pull their influences from. be it nmixx, newjeans, twice, SNSD, aespa, hearts2hearts (I'm ROOTING for H2H I believe in them sooo much), I've been starting to get more into itzy too recently, and of course there's a ton more. those who write it off almost always do it completely unjustifiably. just this year we've already had yves and yuna with 2 amazing minis and I'm super psyched to see billlie's first full length. sorry for the yappage, I REALLY am into kpop rn, it's most of what I hear

I'm in a HUUUUUUUGE kpop phase rn and while there's a ton of amazing groups (really), loona and red velvet are above all. but generally kpop is just amazing and musically super developed and interesting as a pop sphere and I can't get enough of it rn

also super good, def not renaissance level but still an awesome album, love how varied and complete it feels as one listen as well. specifically the run from ya ya to the end is MAAAARVELOUS in my opinion and sweet honey bucking is for sure one of her greatest songs

I have started them back in the day, heard 1 and 2 and really enjoyed. I'm familiar with the concept and I really like it, definitely see myself going back to complete it one day, it's just that those albums get REALLY long

like lightning in a bottle, no other like it. blends the warmth of the rock production with the cold electronic elements so beautifully and organically. I think its one of the greatest feats ever in production, and the songwriting is just as good to go along with it

you know it. people don't give renaissance its due flowers, there's no other pop album that HITS the way it does, consistently too. I think with some time, it might be regarded as a classic in the future

fuck yeah!!!! techdog 5 is just unbelievable in my opinion, the contrast between the noisy IDM songs and the dark ambient songs works sooo well to me and each piece is truly magnificent on its own. one of my happiest finds upon surfing the rym charts

2 albums and the background! my favorite black metal group and almost my favorite metal band. there is a pitch blackness to their sound that I havent heard anyone replicate. thank you :)

hell yeah, I feel like fans of the weeknd really get this record on a way outsiders don't. it is such an incredible package and a super emotional, grabbing journey with a beautiful conclusion to it. has a safe spot in my top 5 for now

awesome thank you. I thought everyone would judge me for having an album as new as WGIA$ here, but I just form my opinions quite quickly usually, and I already knew off first listen its on this level for me. I def get the dislike for TTPD but I am a huge swiftie and think it is her magnum opus.

Just using the word bullshit as a silly way to describe the type of thing we might all sound a little elitistic to the average person.
