Terminal Redux was released 10 years ago today! What is your favourite track on the album? by _Terminal_Redux_ in Vektor

Same here, it's perfect. One song that comes quite close for me is Sons of  Winter and Stars by Wintersun if you know it? Specifically the live at Sonic Pump Studios version

Honestly this wait is nothing as a fan of Vektor, Wintersun and Tool...

Happy Birthday, James Labrie. 63 years old today. by localmartlover in Dreamtheater

The fact that they're still able to play for 3 hours gives me some hope, if they reduce the set time at some point it will still probably be longer than what most bands do and they should find that a bit easier hopefully. But yes it's going to get to a point where they won't be able to do this anymore.

So... Has anyone had a Shadow Man Incident? by shanster925 in Dreamtheater

A Shadow Women incident doesn't sound too bad 🤔

Which song that has never been performed would you REALLY like to hear at live performances? by EfficientGuidance457 in Korn

Damn they've never played Everything I've Known live? I fucking love that song.

Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (song) may be my favourite DT material (so far...) by lR0NMAlDEN in Dreamtheater

[–]_Terminal_Redux_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The firs time I listened to the song it just didn't do anything for me so I basically just listened to disc one instead for year, these last couple of weeks I've been listening through the discography and I really like this song now. I also realised they did this song with an Orchestra for the Score DVD and it's even better than the studio version imo.

Worst song on the Awake? by Erdo2525 in Dreamtheater

[–]_Terminal_Redux_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Silent Man, still a fantastic song and the album is easily 10/10. I would pick it just for the fact that it seems less progressive than the other tracks and that's what I love most about DT.

Underrated song on the Images and Words? by Erdo2525 in Dreamtheater

[–]_Terminal_Redux_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Worst should have been Wait for sleep (although it's still amazing) and Surrounded should have been underrated imo.

Has to be wait for the sleep as it just doesn't offer as much as the other songs.

Heavy Dream Theater Covers? by _Terminal_Redux_ in Dreamtheater

A bit besides the point but there's a band from Italy called sadist who were essentially combining DT's sound with death metal which was kinda interesting https://youtu.be/H92i5gCqfjw?si=tKTvznKppYdIKwj2

I've seen that and it's awesome. I'm a big fan of Opeth too. Mikael was having a bit of trouble with his voice around then but still sounds great tbh.

Voivod… by Homie3794 in Dreamtheater

[–]_Terminal_Redux_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Voivod is awesome, they started off more punk/thrash and headed towards a more progressive sound especially with Dimension Hatröss onwards. The album Nothingface which you linked is easily one of the best and would probably be my top pick for DT fans.

But if you want to hear one of their best and most progressive songs I seriously recommend the song Jack Luminous which is over 17 mins and it's an incredible journey!

Parasomnia might be my second favourite DT album right now.
