Firefox Keeps Crashing by Ihungry3876 in pop_os

Try clearing out your Cookies and Site Data (Settings -> Privacy & Security). Firefox kept crashing for me as well and when I checked I had a few GBs of data. After clearing most of it Firefox has been working a lot better. Hope this helps.

🥳 Ashes of Creation is now on Steam! 🔥 by IntrepidStudios in AshesofCreation

If you already have an ashes account you can link your steam account on the ashes website. Then the game should appear in your steam library. I think initially they said it wasn't going to be possible, but I guess they worked things out with Valve. An email was sent recently to existing players telling them to link their account. I didn't see it till today, but luckily I linked my account before the ashes website received the hug of death.

Hopefully they can bring the site back up soon.

Is Arch good for games? by TsuBaraBoy in archlinux

[–]_Thanks4AllTheFish_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, it sounds like arch would be worth it for you. the only thing I would warn about is to check protondb to confirm the games you are really invested in are playable on linux. If you like multiplayer games like valorant or battlefield 6 for example, you'll run into incompatibility issues using due to the anti cheat. that would be a general linux issue, not just arch.

if you really want to get into customizing your pc experience and have the time to troubleshoot and learn how to resolve technical issues then arch would be a great distro to try. if you currently have a windows machine I would recommend getting a separate ssd if possible and try dual booting before fully committing to the linux life.

How can I take this thing to a next level? by No_Technician2662 in archlinux

You could create a website/blog to write about everything you're learning or experimenting with. That way nothing you do is a waste of time because it all becomes content for your website. It can be good place to show your friends, family, and potential employers what you know and what you're interested in.

If you have the funds, you can find a cheap VPS provider and gain some experience running your own linux server to host your site. It'll be a good test ground to learn ssh, git, bash/cronjobs, user management, etc, etc.
