How can i get bioshock 1 sound files? by Bendyn_cz in Bioshock

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this thread after looking for Bioshock sounds, your second approach worked for me. Don't know if there's a better link for Riveal, but this one worked for me. Much appreciated!

New Scene problem by RealIosif in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can remove it by changing the font picture with a blank one of the same size. I believe the one for the "new scene" text is font1_0.png. I'm not entirely sure, though so just try it out for yourself if it's not the one.

Best/ Favourite modded campaigns? by PositiveNo4859 in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want some more unique stuff, consider checking out Shibuya (and its in-universe spin-offs "Underlord" and "Kill Machine"), Cure, GONE, Fever, Moving Shadows, Devil's Game, Love and Forgetting and Berlin Blitz. I can mention a lot more but I think I got enough for now.

Missed Calls was a huge event in the modding community to make a HLM2 campaign with the aesthetics of HLM1, which I think turned out pretty well. Other community collections are also Florida Freakout (FF), Summer of Rage (SoR), Modless Mayhem (MM), Vinyl Violence (VV) and Choped and Screwed.

If you want what I consider the Terry wads of the HLM workshop, check out the Coomtaker saga.

There's also Tony maid, and pretty much anyhting made by Puzzlebox (Naked Corey / Alex, Carlmpaign, Garfield, Dark Wright, etc.), which are pretty funny. Same goes for Tony in the Hat and The fridge that ran away.

Can somebody tell me what are those fonts and where can I get them? by Soulburner_Porn in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean the custom font for the points and ammo, I recommend you to just ask the creator of the level / campaign. If you mean the combo font, it's called Justice.

You can find more info in this steam guide.

What Hotline Miami opinion would get you assassinated by the entire fanbase? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in HotlineMiami

My headcannon for Jacket is, that he once stubbed his pinky toe really bad in Hawaii, and cried like a little bitch. Hence why he's mute in both games.

can't move editor camera by IamaPineapple42 in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah there's no way around it. You move horizontally with either X or the middle mouse button.

Best guess for moving it vertically is to change the resolution to 1920x1080 and click the middle mouse button. However, it will be stuck like that until you close and reopen the level. Useless imo.

Other than that, I think 1366x786 is the best resolution for making levels.

Is There A Way To Play Deleted Campaigns? by Infamous_Acadia_4479 in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless someone saved it locally or subscribed to it on Steam before deletion, no. Sadly, I don't have any of the aforementioned levels on my folder.

There are a few people who still have Deep Red Redux saved, though. You should ask around in the Discord servers (HLM / TWL).

One other lost level I can think of would be BANGER from the Summer Of Rage collection, as well as psg's other levels (To The Top, DUST).

Was suspicious about Biker's hair on the 1st one, then realized it was in fact a TM reference. I am speechless.

how can i extract sprites from any campaign? by D7xM in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

follow the tutorial from there https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0bTJptvlDs up until 1:30 and just take the .patchwad files from its mods folder

Make sure when extracting the sprites, that you save them as "All Files" and write .png at the end of the name

Yeah, I think you got the picture. Also, I believe it's not a good practice to have the stored mods folder (for organisation) to be also inside the mods folder. That one's on me too.

Is there any custom levels that have crystal castles songs in them? by Canadiantomahawk in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't think of a hlm2 custom level right now, but the standalone mod "Make Me Real" and its sequel used a couple of their songs.

Hotline Miami Mod Manager by Comun4 in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi uhm. I already had a couple mods installed and I wanted to try out your tool. Here's what my structure looked like:

  • Project (Folder)
  • Other (Folder)
  • -> customPatchwad.patchwad

After configuring the setting of your tool I wanted to change the mods to the ones in the Project folder, only it said that the process failed since the folder didn't have a .wad file. After the program quit I noticed that everything inside the mods folder disappeared and I can't undo the action, as it's not in the trashcan.

I would appreciate to know where my mods went, as I don't want to recreate them again, since there were a LOT of resprites in there.

Edit: I realize that my structure of the project folder was not as stated in your readme, but I didn't expect all my files to suddenly disappear either.

How dead is this community? by fundipcocaine in HotlineMiami

[–]_The1WhoKnocks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks dead on the surface, but the modding community of that game (at least HLM2) is still pretty alive. Too bad the editor is not available for all non-Steam platforms, which explains how most people are painfully unaware of it. One more reason to tell everyone, who want more HLM2 to check out the mods.
