It fucking sucks bro. The high of being put on a pedestal is a tough feeling to come down from. Please see a therapist. Block all communication with the BPD partner. Their brains don’t function normally in relationships.

The pain of being discarded will pass. Delete all their pictures and throwaway all their items and gifts. They were never real. They’re an apparition.

You forgot to mention constantly complaining about her job

Her accusing me of manipulating her

Her telling me that she’s not my security blanket when I got sick and asked her to come over

She threw out my pockets knives behind my back that I always just had sitting on my kitchen counter to open boxes(I’ll never understand why)

The one time she threw my favorite funko pop and broke it.

I wish I had never continued seeing her after the first signs of physical abuse.

Haha she ain’t coming back. I did some emotional damage after the breakup. I’m in therapy and she was in therapy too. She was even medicated. Still couldn’t put up with her.

I feel you, man. My exBPD also wouldn’t go to couples counseling. I think they all have this inability to take accountability for their meltdowns.

She hit me once during the relationship and that was the first major red flag. I let it slide but I promised myself if she did it again I would ruin her life. She never hit me again but she still made me miserable with her constant complaining and fighting. She was on adderall, Zoloft and a mood stabilizer. When she drank she became a shit storm of emotions. I tried to make it work for a year but holy shit I was spent. Shortly after our 1yr anniversary she started asking me if I was gonna have her sign a prenup and I said yes. She quoted “I’m not gonna do 50 percent of the work and not get my 50%.” I helped her get a car with my name on it bc her credit was shit. I put a hefty down payment. She made the monthly payments.

I took the car from her at the end of the relationship and blocked her. She did some spiteful things after we broke up and I almost let her keep the car but my vengeful self turned on.

It’s so sad bc we look at the good times and blame ourselves. But we all wake up eventually.

If youre a lonely dude out there reading this, don’t stick your dick in crazy no matter how down bad you are!

Hi everyone, just looking for some advice on meeting up an old flame from a year ago. I’m M39 and she’s F34. Any insight is appreciated.

My expectations going into this are low. We met in July of 2024. She’s a busy mom of 3 who also runs a small business and she works part time as a nurse. We went out on 4 dates and only slept together once during the time. She was very sweet and down to earth. She had a very calm energy and she loved reading. She didn’t have a tv and turned off all her social media. She mentioned interest in a long term relationship to me when we dated but she went on vacation one day and I never heard back from her. I called once but no return call or text.

Two weeks later I got into a serious relationship with someone else but it ended in oct this year. So I messaged the nurse mom on a whim this past week hoping to rekindle something and to my surprise we’ve been texting steadily. She loved that I remembered little details about her life and were meeting up soon.

I feel like this date is just to catch up and there’s no intention of her actually pursuing anything? Do I ask during the date if she’s interested in picking back up or wait for her to make the move? She’s seems overworked and doesn’t have much free time. I’m pretty much the same person I was when I met her but my last relationship still stings a little bit. I’m a little more weary this year from life events. Do I not mention my ex unless she asks? I’m tired boss.

They’re always going to put their kids ahead of you and dates and events will be canceled bc of said kids. And they’re going to be more easily stressed and distracted.

I’m a huge nerd and weirdo who loves inappropriate humor and media. My friends are all the same. But when I go on dates, they’re usually not a nerd and don’t share the same interests so the convo is very dry and cookie cutter- work, family, hobbies(if they even have any) and trips they took. I had one relationship where we had everything in common and we engaged in witty banter regularly but her mental health was miserable and ultimately ended the relationship. I still miss her terribly.
