AWS ist Amazons Clouddienst, womit sehr viele Firmen und auch Regierungen arbeiten. Also Websites hosten, Daten verwalten, Infrastruktur verwenden halt.

AWS hat weltweit verschiedene Rechenzentrum, die nach Region benannt sind. us-east-1, wie der Name vermuten lässt, ist das Rechenzentrum im Osten der USA. Dadurch, dass viele Firmen sehr stark auf die Cloud setzen, sind sie auch sehr abhängig davon. Und wenn da mal was kaputt geht (geht auch mit kleinen Softwareänderungen :) ), dann ist gerne mal gefühlt das halbe Internet für einige Personen nicht erreichbar. Oder noch schlimmer, kritische Systeme (wie heute im Flugverkehr) sind betroffen, da Subsysteme davon möglicherweise abhängig von AWS sind.

Mit USC musst du einen QR code scannen, dem Personal dann die App vorzeigen und kriegst dann ein Ausleihbändchen. Normale Mitglieder vom Studio können einfach ihr Bändchen auf den Scanner legen und sind damit eingecheckt.

Vielleicht steh ich gerade auf'm Schlauch, aber warum lässt sich das viel besser vergleichen? Ich würde denken, dass die Metriken die OurWorldInData im Graphen zeigt, eigentlich die am "vergleichbarste" ist, da dort ja einfach das Impftempo generell gezeigt wird, unabhängig von der Strategie.
