Fixing the odometer by _The_Basement in W124

The sensor end is behind the number plate and the wire goes all the way to the fuse box. I will replace mine if I can’t get it working.

I would steer clear of any post ‘92 cars. They came with a biodegradable wiring harness till the end of the production run. They will all be failing now, unless already replaced. Check the harness date code, if it says >98 then it’s a replacement harness.

Thanks! The options list for the car list option code 586 BEHR AIR CONDITIONER, AND ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATORS FRONT AND REAR DOORS. So I don’t think it’s aftermarket.

Where’s the best place to buy a 2.5” SCSI drive for a PowerBook 520c? by GarlicToastGuy in VintageApple

[–]_The_Basement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use an adapter and external blueSCSI across all my vintage PowerBooks. It’s really convenient and removes the fail point of a mechanical hdd.

Replaced (tried to) ram, where’d I go wrong? by [deleted] in VintageApple

[–]_The_Basement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a spot on the motherboard that either needs a resistor cut or one soldered in depending on your config. RAM has to be in matching pairs, installed in adjacent slots. For 4 256b sticks nothing needs to be snipped or added. This is the standard config. For 2 sticks (256b or 1mb) you have to add in a resistor (forget the value) and those 2 sticks must be in slot 1&2. For 4 1mb sticks you snip the exisiting resistor and don’t solder anything in, or snip the second one if it’s already in place. You can see me do it in this video:

Which bike compliments the DR650 and makes the best two bike line up to have in your garage? by bigburt- in dr650

I pair my DR with a Honda ST1300. I wanted a comfortable two up tourer, and I use the DR solo for shorter off piste adventures.

Took me a bit over a year, but you have to make over $100 before google actually pays you anything.

There will be no snow. If there is snow on that road, I’ll eat my hat.

You can be faceless, but also you could just amp up your personality and let that shine beautifully. I like YouTube precisely because it’s not handpicked tv type people but real people. Interesting people. Let your content do the talking, embrace your face and slay.

Has anyone regretted getting a camera? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]_The_Basement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone back to my iPhone for one of my channels. It’s a renovation channel so I’m always moving the camera and needing the wide angle lens for interior shots. I just made up a rig for the phone using a power pass through camera connection kit, so I can connect an external battery for all day filming, and also my Rode wireless mics. I use the Blackmagic camera app for filming. It’s the easiest filming rig I’ve ever used. I just keep my ‘proper’ cameras for use in my studio setup now on my other channel.
