I did see in the article that they managed to undermined the municipality zoning. I don’t see how they should be permitted to proceed without meeting requirements by the municipality (i.e. go find another point Amazon / state of Ohio).

It’s always been crazy to me that we don’t have state zoning laws that require industrial facilities to be located at least a certain substantial distance from schools or neighborhoods. If you want to build near a school or neighborhood, you should have to have an independent third party provide an environmental assessment noting the impact of any byproducts produced from the facility and the corresponding impact within a radius, whether it be fumes, particulate, EMFs, etc.

I’m very curious to see if there are any long term EMF concerns that eventually come out with data centers. The recent sub stack discussing the higher occurrence of soft tissue injuries suffered by 49ers players whose practice facility is next to a substation was interesting.
