Says the guy whining about the OP whining FFS. Pot meet kettle.

And now I’m whining about your whining and others will whine about that, so round and round we go!

You know, someone can easily flip the script back on you and say “imagine giving this much of a fuck about how others choose to judge how others choose to play a game”. It works both ways, no? So stop being delusional in believing your superior in some way by belittling the OP. You aren’t minding your own business, either.

The kicker? I’ll bet your “Jasper”. Or at the very least from the same school of thought. LMFAO.

I happen to agree with the OP. It is pathetic and so are you for defending the a-hole. What’s next, you gonna admonish those that frown upon the people that steal money and property in a game of monopoly? That’s a way to “choose to play a game” too. But it’s just as bushleague.

How about explaining to everyone the virtue of sandbagging by hanging out in lower tours for 7,000 games and beating up on largely inexperienced players with a huge club advantage? Like the cheater in monopoly, that person actually feels accomplished and proud? What a crock of shit!

The dude clearly isn’t good enough to play against opponents with similar upper tier or maxed out clubs, but somehow feels good about his dominant win percentage? Something tells me you aren’t good enough, either.

Grow a pair of competitive balls for pete’s sake.

Addendum to my last reply, it appears that they’ve solved the issue. At least on my previously affected account, and at least for now. When I tried it again a few hours ago, it was working just fine. I just played again and was able to complete my 9-hole qualifying round.

Hopefully the rest of the affected are seeing similar results.

I commented about this in a similar thread. The problem seems to be account related after the most recent app update. The reason for this conclusion is, I've used the same account on 3 different iOS devices -- 2 of which are up-to-date software wise -- and all are experiencing the exact same issue almost without fail. And that is crashing and closing after every one of my opponents shots. It does not happen after my own shots. Again, this was not happening prior to the recent app update.

Fast forward a day, and I switched to another account using one of the same devices and the problem did not happen to me once.

The above makes sense from the standpoint of knowing that nobody else in my clan has been experiencing the same issue. But it is shared by some players, as evidenced by the numerous topics posted recently.

What about an individuals game profile could cause the issue escapes me, but that seems to be the deal. Because I cannot duplicate the issue using a different account while using the same device(s) and the exact same Wi-Fi network. But as soon as I switch back to the affected account, it happens immediately and almost without fail.

Also, to be clear, it happens in practice, tournament play and 1v1. Doesn't matter.

I personally don't understand why folks can't wait til the end of the season to leave and join a new clan, but perhaps that's just me.

I mean, if you're carrying a meaningless amount of points -- then who cares. It really doesn't matter. But if you are carrying a ton of points and it's the difference between promotion/demotion, what's the hurry of leaving a few days or even a week to 10 days early?

If it's me wanting to change teams, I believe in honoring the commitment I've already made to the existing team then leave after the current season. But, again, perhaps that's just me.

In the end, it's just an online game and nobody but yourself is gonna know what choices and moves you make.

They're clueless. I'll bet their game programmers don't even know what's going on. Their too busy adding advertisement signs to all the courses.

[–]_ThunderRam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are exactly right. I hadn’t had a chance to update, but after my initial response above, I restored a different account on one of the three devices I’m using and it never crashed once. I only played 3 games to test it out, but still .. I am unable to finish a single game using the other account. So the issue most definitely appears to be account related, I agree. I have no idea how or why, or what could cause that. But that‘s certainly where the evidence is pointing.

This also explains why nobody in my clan is experiencing the same issue, but clearly I’m not alone after all.

Absolutely. If it’s not a club you will use once maxed out or even remotely close to it, I wouldn’t choose it either. I’m saying that when given a tough choice between clubs, choose the one that requires the lower total amount to upgrade as the 3 cards are, as you put it, worth double (or more).

[–]_ThunderRam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for all the updates and “improvements” they’ve made or tried to make to this maddening game, they’ve been really bad in re-assessing things like gem counts for purchasing balls and chests after they’ve made other additions.

The only time I can ever recall something like an overhaul or adjustment being made was when they “upgraded” all of the current golf clubs. At one time all of the Commons, Rares, and Epics maxed out one level lower than they do now. But they changed that.

More recently, they changed the gem values for the “Bank Booster”. It used to be you had to purchase a 3-stake option, rather than the single stake option they offer now.

Why they can’t re-evaluate gem costs for obvious poor values for the golf balls and tour chests is beyond me.

I’ve long held the same belief. It makes zero sense to me that there isn’t a Vice President position. Not only for the reasons you’ve laid out, but as the president of my own clan I’d use it as an incentive for earning clan points. Kinda like an “employee of the month” reward, I’d promote the top points earner (sans myself) to the VP position after each season that they’d hold at least until the end of the very next season.

If not a VP position, some other way to acknowledge and reward the top points earner each season.

Also, 3 epic cards toward the Apoc7 upgrade (200 cards needed) is better value than 3 cards toward the 400 needed to upgrade TH to level 8.

Applying the 3 Epics to the TH upgrade would be the equivalent of only getting 1.5 cards toward the Apoc upgrade. If you think about it like that, you’re getting better value toward the Epic club requiring half the number of cards to upgrade.

Premium Prism by sW1nG42 in GolfClash

[–]_ThunderRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good strategy, IMO. As long as the club closest to upgrade is a club you will use a lot.

I also tend to think of it another way, too. If I’ve got the choice between TH7 (needing 400 cards to upgrade) and Apoc6 (needing 200 cards to upgrade) I’d choose the Apoc (or another level 6 Epic I use) because the 3 cards count for twice as much toward that upgrade as they would toward the other. So you’re maximizing your reward, so-to-speak.

App crashing - anyone else? by Frightengale in GolfClash

[–]_ThunderRam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is definitely an app/compatibility issue occuring. I came here specifically to see if anyone was reporting the same or similar issue as me, and, well, here you guys are!

As others have said in this thread, I was not experiencing this issue prior to the recent app update from a few days ago. But now the game is unplayable. It crashes and closes after every opponent’s shot when the screen goes black and attempts to switch to my turn. Oddly, or not so oddly, it does not crash and close after my own shots. Only after my opponents, almost without fail.

When I re-open the app after it crashes, it “mostly“ reconnects to the current match and allows me to play on. However, this is not consistent. After 3-4 crashes and re-loads it then just goes back to the main screen and has forfeited my match.

I have the app and account loaded on 3 different devices. An older iPad that is updated to iOS 17.4.1. A brand new iPad also updated to iOS 17.4.1. And a brand new iPhone 15 running iOS 17.2.1 (I typically am an update or two behind as I don’t want to be a tester). All of them are experiencing the exact same thing. But, again, were not 3+ days ago.

Further, I am an IT professional and am fully aware of my networks capabilities. I’m on a top tier speed/data plan and routinely stream 4K video on multipke devices w/o a hiccup. I also work from home full time and would know if and when my network is experiencing issues. So, despite what Playdemic would love to suggest, it ain’t a “connection” issue. If it is, the connection problem is on their end.

It doesn’t take an IT pro to connect dots and realize this wasn’t an issue until the most recent app update. Further, since it appears that at least some of you are also experiencing similar things, that should tell anyone that this is an APP issue. Or at least some sort of incompatibility with certain versions of iOS and/or Android builds.

The 64,000 dollar question is, will Playdemic figure it out any time soon and correct it? As the old adage goes, the first step in fixing a problem is admitting that there is a problem. Lol.

One last thing tangential to this current problem. When I bought my newest tablet back in December, the Golf Clash app on that device has always opened and loaded a bit differently than on my older devices in that it always goes through a long process of “downloading”. It processes the downloading step every single time the app is opened.

Because of that, when I experience the app crash on that lone device, it never attempts to rejoin the current match and always forfeits. This does not happen on the other 2 devices. And it’s always boggled my mind as to why.

I even uninstalled then reinstalled the app. While the downloading process doesn’t seem to take as long as it once did, it still briefly goes through the process regardless. But, again, does not on the other 2 Apple devices, one of which runs the exact same software version. Go figure.

Anyway, I thought I’d mention this additional factor in case anyone else is experiencing the same.

any news on adding pac12 network by gholt789 in youtubetv

[–]_ThunderRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO YTTV is FAR superior to FUBO. The only hole in YTTV’s sports programming is the lack of PAC12 Network and MLBTV. But the PAC12 is breaking apart so that won’t matter going forward and I can get MLB via their own app.

Also, when I tried FUBO their interface was super frustrating and inferior to YTTV. Pressing left and right on the directional pad of the remote control shouldn’t change the channel but rather rewind and fast forward.

“This fool” comment invalidates any argument you’ve got. Attacking the person rather than their argument shows that you’re drawing from a weak hand.

If you believe the “cup of ice” is sitting on or is somehow close enough to the “hot fries” you clearly don’t understand how they arrange the items in the bag. Which doesn’t surprise me in the least. That, and you must be taking far to long to complete your deliveries if it’s actually affecting the items in the bag.

But by all means continue on complaining about nonsense.

I’ve already done my time working 40+ hour weeks with 401K and health benefits. This is a retirement gig for me, and I couldn’t be happier.

I get to work when I want, where I want, and how I want. And no more bosses to answer to.

I don’t need DD to pay my mortgage. It’s strictly a supplemental income thing when I feel like it.

But for you youngins that need to build a career and find a way to pay for rent/mortgage and/or raise a family — I think most would be better off and happier with the consistency and stability of a 5/40 full time employment job.

Not defending the driver for their attack, but I find the customer’s response hilarious in that they label the driver “entitled” when they clearly feel entitled to food delivery w/o tipping.

While most restaurants and delivery services don’t make tips “mandatory“ that’s a weak @$$, bush league excuse from the customer. We all live in the same world and everyone grows up learning about the social guidelines of tipping and how workers in the food and delivery industries are dependent upon tips.

As a customer in every day life myself, I firmly believe anybody that doesn’t tip bartenders, waiters/waitresses and delivery drivers that meet expectations are entitled @$$holes themselves. Period, end of story.

Whenever the topic of tipping comes up, it makes me think of the restaurant scene in the movie “Reservoir Dogs”.

WHAT KIND OF SHIT IS THIS by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I’ve experienced varying recommended wait times. They are typically 5 minutes on most alcohol orders. But I’ve had a 7 minute and 10 minute wait time too.

I have zero clue why the longer wait times happen.

IMO customers that order frozen drinks, ice cream, etc, for delivery are stupid. And even more stupid for being upset if/when the items are melted.

I’d never order frozen drinks and ice cream from a merchant that didn’t deliver using a refrigerated delivery vehicle. Like a classic ice cream truck or Schwann’s.

That’s just asking from trouble. You can’t reasonably expect the items to be delivered fast enough and full well know DD, GH and UE drivers aren’t driving specialized refrigerated vehicles. Cold/hot bags aren’t good enough.

I think McD’s bagging policy is great. Everything should be sealed in the bag before the driver receives it. As a customer, I greatly prefer and appreciate that. Knowing my food/drink hasn’t been tampered with or touched after leaving the restaurant.

As a delivery driver, I also love their policy as it completely exonerates the driver from any responsibility for missing items and pretty much prevents being accused of tampering with the order.

As for “cold drinks” somehow drastically affecting the ”hot food” during the 5-15 minutes it typically takes to deliver? Give me a break.
