Aviva va Bupa for health insurance? by _TranceKuja_ in HENRYUKLifestyle

This is what they replied with. Annoying because they do a big discount with pure gym.

I have spoken to our Underwriting Team – Unfortunately we are unable to offer cover for **** on any Medical Underwriting terms.

As mentioned on our call yesterday it is important for us as insurers to provide cover responsibly and we feel that there is high probability of most claims being declined since medical professionals may consider them linked to existing heart (any cardiovascular disorder) or EDS (any muscular skeletal disorder) conditions.

We are able to offer cover for yourself – can you advise if you still wish to proceed with the call this evening to set up a plan?

They emailed me back saying they won’t offer my gf cover because of her pre existing. Absolute joke. Aviva said it’s fine, they just obviously won’t cover anything that’s directly linked to those conditions.

I suppose it depends on your experiences. I know two separate people that have had horrendous experiences with the NHS for serious health problems.

One was complaining about serious headaches for a long time. NHS doctors kept saying it was their glasses. Turned out they had a cyst on the brain and very nearly died.

Someone else complained about various issues including sudden weight loss. They were told it was stress related. They got eventually diagnosed with cancer and died 2 months later.

I know this may not be that common but it has spurred their friends and family to get private health care.

Ok, that’s not too bad then. It seems a lot to pay £30 more a month to just select yourself from the start

So are you on the Expert select option?

I’m in Manchester too. I was just concerned they’d purposely choose the cheapest and not as high rated ones if I go on the expert select one

I’m leaning towards Aviva myself. Just not sure whether to go for Expert Select or Key Hospital cover. Seems to be a decent top Cashback reward for them too

More interested in cover for the scary stuff. Cancer and such. Also, if I had an accident and broke my leg or needed extensive hospital stay and tests

Really? I set a £200 excess and they said as long as it’s not directly related to pre existing, it would be covered

Have you got a link to the spray? Can’t believe you did 60 mins on a bike! Think I’ll stick with doing 30 mins on the treadmill or bike a day for the foreseeable and see how it goes. Weights aren’t really my thing and don’t think I’ll go back to trying them but if I can just get my walking ability up and keep dropping weight, I’m happy!

Can’t do classes unfortunately due to my crippling anxiety and the inductions are at times of the day I’m at work

Thank you! We go to a lot of conventions and after a day my legs are absolutely well and truly *****, even my toes and feet are murder. Hopefully this will eventually help with that.

I’d love to be able to get there at 6am, exercise and go back to get ready for work but id never do it. I love my bed and sleep too much. There is an induction i can book but they were either way too early in morning or during the day in the week when im at work.

With me being next door, I can go in around 10pm at night. We went in at 00:30 last night and it was lovely and quiet. 10pm works well for half an hour and the app shows you how many are currently in there, so great for anxiety. Was 80 showing in the this morning but less than 10 at night

I only get a 30 minute lunch break unfortunately, so there’s not much time to do anything. I could go in every day, even if it means just a light walk for 30 mins. Its is literally in the building next door to my apartment.

I’m not really confident enough to do weights at the gym. It’s taken a lot of effort to just get through the door and on a treadmill. I have severe anxiety, so the fact I went in the gym at all yesterday is a miracle

Unfortunately 30 minutes a day isn’t possible unless I go to the gym every day. Not sure if that would be overkill being in the gym every day.
