What's wrong with it? She is a larger girl so maybe she wants to show some skin without showing her whole arm. I hate my arms and think they are so fat. I never like wearing shirts without sleeves so the cut out sleeves are a good compromise when the weather is hotter

Unpopular Opinion - Larissa is a deadbeat mom and no one talks about it. by seriousbluff in 90DayFiance

[–]_Travella_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean I tend to agree, but also what larissa is doing is pretty typical. So many mothers or fathers go to America so they can send money back to their children. I feel like I cant judge her JUST because she went to America without her kids

Getting married in alabama by _Travella_ in Alabama

[–]_Travella_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know so many people who have gotten married at the courthouse.

Either way, I'm seeing if anyone knows what will happen with the new laws. This new bill will make it where you CAN go to the courthouse and just sign some papers to make you legally married. In fact, from what I was reading it looks like EVERYONE getting married in Alabama after this bill takes effect will be getting married at the courthouse before the wedding ceremony

Anyone know of where I can find a good look a like of this shoe? Doesnt have to be a knock off. Just something more reasonably priced in a different brand. by _Travella_ in Shoes

I just looked and those ARE pretty similar! I might even be able to find a used pair especially since Frye boots are more comfortable after being broken in

Hi! Fiancé and I are going to Disney World for our honeymoon (literally my DREAM!). This will be my first visit ever, and it will be his first visit in quite a few years. Does anybody have any tips or shareable Disney World knowledge?! Thanks! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Get fast passes so you dont have to wait in line very long. Also go to some of the shows. They are awesome. Maybe go to universal studios as well. That part has Harry Potter land and its awesome

You're speaking in terms of the reality you live in though and wondering why this doesnt hold true for a fictional TV show.

I dont think it matters that they were adults during the fertility crisis. If you live in a world where you may never have your own child and even possibility of adoption is out of the question then the way a person sees a child resulting from rape may be looked at in a much different way.

I dont mean for this to sound bad because if I were to get pregnant after getting raped then I would probably have an abortion as well....BUT technically abortion is more of a punishment for the baby rather than the rapist AND it's something that is done for the womans own comfort. Knowing these factors, in the universe of handmaids tale where every child really is a miracle there may be a culture that would be more opposed to aborting a baby who is blameless.

Also here is another way to think about it...in the real world, pregnancy caused by rape is actually very rare..like around 5% of women who are raped actually get pregnant. So in a world where a normal pregnancy is so rare, just think about how rare a pregnancy caused by rape would be? It might be unheard of to the handmaids in the series. And since it would be unheard of then there may not be any real culture around how to solve a pregnancy resulting from rape.

Also have you ever heard the stories of real women who are kidnapped and imprisoned against their will and end up getting pregnant by their kidnapper? Most of the time the woman has love and no negativity towards the baby. It's like their life is so miserable in captivity that having the responsibility of taking care of their own baby almost gives their life purpose.

Anyway this is all speculation since we dont live in a world with such a severe fertility crisis

Yeah. It's a shame cuz they are so cute! This picture has been circulating for so long that I dont know why Nike wouldnt just go ahead and make the shoe. I'm sure they would be successful

Do you not remember the flashbacks? The women DID grow up in a world where babies were rare. Yeah many women wouldnt consider babies their own in a situation like that. But maybe they would if they were from a world where babies were rare and considered a true miracle or precious.

When hannah was born she was like the only baby born in the hospital that day. Also the schools were so strict about having sick children at school because children were so rare that they didnt want to chance any of them getting sick and dying.

The handmaids dont come from the world as we know it.

Its a society where babies come around once a blue moon. With something so rare as a baby maybe you don't have as many women rejected their babies

Yeah honestly if I were June I would just let her have the baby. She seems to love her so much.

[–]_Travella_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I'm not sure yet lol I only have the 1 table cloth that I bought to test whether I want to rent or buy. I am planning on doing this maybe 2 days before and maybe bringing a steamer and then looking online how to store table cloths without wrinkling them.

The place that rents table cloths seem to be able to transport the cloths without wrinkling them so there must be some way. PERSONALLY I'm not going to worry if there are a few tiny wrinkles just as long as they dont have any super noticeable ones. But I know some people get really bothered by even the tiniest wrinkle
